Or something did anyway.

Went to bed at 4am, requesting the data centre guys to get it up and running again by the morning. They did, but they didn't start the HTTP software...

But the site's up now!

And the date/time looks completely wrong...

everytime i try to log in forum... google search site pops up.. especially early in the mornings.

Not seen that before...

In the past week the site's been down twice... if it happened other times... that's odd :)

Something killed it again.

Looked like some kind of kernel/memory-related error.

Everything seems to be in tact...!

Get a backup off site asap, more the two outages in the same day means it's very likely to fall over completely, had this happen far too often in the past, luckily I do a lot of backups.  If it's just memory then replacing that should be fine, depends on how the hosting company works, they might just yank the entire box.

Actually, did they do a kernel upgrade?  I guess it's some nasty Linux box.

It's my own server, colocated.

(And the previous crash was 5 months ago, if you look at the timestamp!)

I wouldn't worry about it too much :)
