Title: Cataclysm grinding
Post by: kundrak on November 22, 2010, 12:45:32 pm
Hey Fam I had a few questions about CATA. First, when I was trying to hit lvl 80, I turned to doing Bgs to gain exp faster. will this be the same in Cata? Second, are there goign  to be groups grindindg till lvl 85 and is it possible to take part?  thanks all.

GB

ps if people will be quest grindin is it also possible to take part if bgs arent an option.

bg grinding is not as viable as it was back when it was introduced. I prefer either questing alone or farming dungeons with 4 others.

Didn't someone say that dungeon grinding wouldn't be as good as 5-man questing?

I would rather do the quests, they must be pretty cool ya knows. It's just gonna
be the same as always. Quest , get the instance quests for that zone and then
do the instance once for those quests. Next zone -> repeat.

Its impossible to say anything definitive as it will be depending on how overrun the questing zones are.

Well, the main advantage of dungeons is that the mobs provide mass XP. So you can grind dungeons, and then do quest when zones are empty (or emptier).

I'm going for massive dungeon farming, it is suggested it's a matter of hours to get the levels you need that way. Gonna line up my PvE heroes, call in sick and rush to 85!

Or how laggy the instance servers will be with everyone farming them :)

that's the plan! I'm not sure if you can buy it on direct debit though, since dutch bank accounts don't automatically come with credit cards. I'll just use someone else's card if needed :)

This has indeed been an issue before, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was again during Cataclysm. Personally I may power instances with my druid (olol instant queue as tank) and take it slow and enjoy content while levelling my alt alongside the better half.

yeah do try and get hold of it, the downloads fairly small too! can count me in and we can start some dungeons at release time (or try). it'll be worth seeing what the xp is like.

Farming dungeon's won't be sufficent as it was before, they said that they've nerfed xp gains from dungeons compared to questing, so I woulnd't recommend to farm instances.

Well, to be fair, most ppl who play wow are casuals.  I doubt they care if a small percentage level in instances.  Just another reason to make instances lots of fun :)

Guy who lvl-ed 3 times from 80-85 character suggest actually to not spam dungeons and go with questing while doing dungeons for quests.Thou he was herbalist every time so that might be plus as we know from herbing u also get XP.

You gotta take into consideration the sick amount of gold you will make from instance grinding and then doing all quests at 85 :P.
