Post by: delling on February 09, 2011, 12:27:37 pm: Out of curiousity, would anyone be explicitly against putting text ads (Google ads) on the IE forum?

I'm mainly interested in finding out if they would actually make any money. About 80% of the forum's visitors are repeat visitors (i.e. Dunemaulers), and I don't know if they would click ads.

But yeah, I'm curious -- for all I know, it might make hundreds of dollars a month, and it seems a bit pointless to waste money that can be easily made.

(We're not talking about Flash/graphical/shiny ads. And if we can find something in-guild to spend the money on, I'm up for that too. Basically, I'm just asking if anyone would find a small box of text ads completely awful.)
