I would sure appreciate if warner brothers doesn't bring about the apocalypse as a publicity stunt. I think that's going a bit far.

I have seen this trailer (sadly, I don't want to watch Trailers, they're such spoilers!) and I had goosebumps from just that. This will truly be one of the greater epic movies when it comes to special effects and storyline/drama/whatever.

I always try to avoid trailers since I tend to keep waiting after a specific scene during the movie which sort of... ruins it.

Harry Potter is Daniel Radcliffe (http://www.funnyordie.com/videos/a1c04ce68e/i-am-harry-potter), not the other way around.

So anyone seen this yet?

My sister slept on trafalgar square for the premier to see the people related to the movies and cry endlessly at their speach in the end. Any of you brits who paid this event a visit?

Those maniacs had to start waiting there 3 days before, and then it rained heavily for 2 days straight!

Good movie, nice and big action scenes and Emma Watson is the mother of my firstborn son.
3D doesnt add much to the movie.

8/10!

3D doesnt add much to the movie.
But was it in the way? I found when I watched the latest transformers that some of the 3D scenes were out of focus (maybe it was the camera at the cinema) and that the 3D effect in general did nothing but annoy me.

As I grew up with the Harry Potter books and got pretty hooked, it's hard not to be biased. But I think this is probably the best HP movie made.. Fuckadoodledoo it was good! They made some changes from the book that I didn't care too much for, but they've been doing that in almost every movie :(

Note: If you're a gay fanboy like myself, don't do like I did with the first part and wait for it to come on blueray and then download it. Being in a proper cinema makes it so much better!

I've still never seen a 3D movie... and I haven't watched an HP movie since #4 I think. But maybe I should watch this one!

You'd be doing the movie a great injustice, and you won't enjoy it half as much as you should! Watch the first movies, and read the last book plox! Then you're ready!

I read all the books up to the half blood prince, then I just couldn't find time for reading. Is it worth reading the last books before seeing the last movie or can the books wait?

Also, as Archz said many of us grew up with these movies, we were at (or close to) the same stages in life that they were in the movie and it just sort of stuck. I'm not sure if that makes sense or not but it's all I got  :P And if you're a proper fanboi you should try to find a replay or something of the trafalgar square event. I only saw bits and pieces and the final speech they all did and it was heart touching. No tears tho, aint homo.

Definately worth reading the last few books as well, even though they get better at putting more of the books in the movies, theres a lot of cool stuff you'll never see in the movies, which happen in the books!

This was quite underwhelming, bordering to boring. I assume you have to be a HP fan/know all the movies/books in order to appreciate it (I only saw 3 or 4 movies on TV while niece-sitting, so didn't really pay attention), as they mostly seem to tidy up the plots from previous installments?

Also, this film is so fricking dark, combined with 3D which darkens the image even more, a lot of times one could hardly see shit. I also found that gritty look rather dull than "hot".
And, to finally show off my complete HP noobness, so, what was all the fuss about, was S.... the f.... of HP?
Edit: Oh right, we have spoiler tags!

I agree that it was not quite what it was hyped to be but the harry potter films are really one story and you cant skip movies or books in the middle.

I only saw the movies and I did need help from my HP-fan wife to get some of the details

To be fair it makes no sense to watch the seventh movie without knowing the story from the first six books. The plot is so tangled at this point that you really cannot watch this without knowing much of what has gone ahead.

The thing is that the books are so long in the end that tying it all into a movie is really hard, which sadly shows in the storytelling.
And no Snape was in love with HP's mother and very jealous of his father.
But apparently his love for the mother made him protect HP all those years and to help HP he had to make Voldemort believe he was a follower.
