Title: Raider Application - Druid (DPS) - Flame
Post by: Applicant on May 31, 2015, 10:42:13 pm
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Flame
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Flame/advanced
Class/Spec: Druid (DPS)
Member Type: raider

Personal Info:

Jon Cory, 38, British, UK, married, 2 kids, school teacher of French, Spanish, ICT and Psychology.

Class/Spec:

Feral druid is my main spec.  I have played as both resto and guardian in the past where necessary.  Can't play balance for chips sorry - just seems like rocket science to me!

Current feral item level is 699 best with 697 equipped.  It's full BIS mythic apart from the tier :-)aaa

Don't really have gear for other specs.

Feral is a mix between bleed damage over time (rake, rip, thrash) and direct damage (shred, ferocious bite).

I use incarnation as my tier 4 talent as it is currently the best dps.

I play with blood talons as my tier 7 talent as it produces the best damage presently.  This talent essentially buffs your next two melee abilities by 30% every time you cast healing touch (which is instant courtesy of your predator's swiftness).

My opener in raid goes something like this:

Cast healing touch
Stealth
Potion
Rake (get free savage roar thanks to glyph)
Shred
Incarnation
Shred
Tiger's Fury + Berserk
Rip
Shred spam to 5 CPs
Healing touch
Ferocious Bite
Rake
Shred spam to 5 CPs
Ferocious Bite
etc.

Then maintain savage roar, buff every rake and rip with Bloodtalons and with Tiger's Fury if poss.  Bite where able.  Currently with lust up you can get 3 FBs in during the pull before refreshing Rip which is nice.

I use Power Auras to keep track of various buffs with my own set of auras.  Here is a screenshot: http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i254/Bloofire/WowUI_zpsb8bd4a6f.jpg

Alts:

I have a DK at 684 - can play all 3 specs
I have a shitty geared shaman - can only play Enhancement
Rogue is 92
I have a Monk on Alliance at 688 - can only play WW
I have a Paladin on Alliance at 665 - can play ret and prot
I have a shitty geared Mage - can play all 3 specs
Other druid is 92

Professions:

Engineering - coz it's cool!  Got Jeeves and lots of other handy stuff
Leatherworking - coz it makes good gold

Raiding Experience:

Started playing WoW in WOTLK.  Starting proper raiding in Cata.  Raided 25 man heroic with Ambuscade through Firelands and Dragon Soul.  Regularly got top 100 ranks as feral in DS.

Moved to Kazzak from Thunderhon when the guild moved over.  Raided the start of MoP but had to take a break at about Horridon heroic in ToT.

I found that House of Pride had easier raid times for me so applied to them for SoO.  Had heroic Garrosh on farm so everyone in the guild got the mount (APART FROM ME!!!) Seriously I was the last one left who needed it >.<

I've always played feral really.  I tanked on heroic Spine of Deathwing and healed a little in early Dragon Soul but mainly feral.

Previous Guilds:

Only left Ambuscade on my main to raid with House of Pride.  Ambuscade is still home base for me really.  I left House of Pride due to it disbanding recently.

Availability:

I work Monday to Friday 8am to 4.30pm ish.  I'm a teacher so occasionally have parents evenings on a Thursday.  I have long school holidays - so 6 weeks off from July to Sept.

Communication:

I'm British :p

Yes, yes and yes!

Computer / Connection:

My computer does the job.  It's a little long in the tooth now but is heavily overclocked and has a decent video card.  I have fibre optic broandband.  It seems good.

Addons/UI:

Power Auras - coz it's awesome.  I have them set up for combo points and timers for savage roar and predator's swiftness etc.
DBM - coz it's mandatory for raiding
Angry Assignments  - coz it's handy for guild/raid assignments on boss fights
Scada - to make sure I'm highest!
Tidy Plates - coz it's awesome to see info on top of your targets' heads
EPGP or RCLootCouncil

Currently useful:
Exorsus Raid Tools - handy for hand allocation on Kromog
Hansgar and Franzok assist

Screen shot:  http://i74.photobucket.com/albums/i254/Bloofire/WowUI_zpsb8bd4a6f.jpg

Other Games:

None really

Why Iron Edge?

Coz Vejeta says it's awesome and it's only 2 nights a week!!

What can I offer Iron Edge?

Fun mature attitude with top quartile feral dps.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

Friend - Vejeta who I raided with back in Cata.  Think his char is Calaron or something?

Last Words?

I'm a fun guy who works hard and has a busy family life but wants to raid to the highest possible level in the time allowed.  I'm pretty good, but i'm also very, very old  -  therefore my reaction times aren't what they once were lol.  But I can listen up and adapt fast in progression.  I have a few good logs up on warcraftlogs if you can be bothered to look at them :p

Hope to talk to you guys soon!

Bout damn time Jon!,

I can vouch for him with his Druid and dk at least as well as his progress. I've kinda pestered him every time to join a guild I've been in since I came back from break start of mop. Application is good no half assed effort, has some logs on warcraftlogs you've not posted however not many kills compared to what your armory says.

Again this guy has my vote as is a pretty damn good feral dps Druid.

Good luck on the app!

Cálaron is my alt, I'm still maining with my paladin!

Don't need no filthy Cats stealing my beautiful Rogue gear! Off with u !

On a more srs note it is a very nice application, altho I think we are already far too melee heavy. Then again, its not for me to decide!

Gl !

Ohh, just a small edit, why are you leaving Infusion? It can't just be the fact that we raid one day less?

Supre,

You think now is melee heavy, 4months ago we had an extra 4-5melee, including with who's still here. As I mentioned in my reply he's applying as I asked him to else I'm sure he'd stay in the guild he's just joined. With his experience of bear rest and kitty dps and reliability in attendance is surely a huge plus.

Regards

No surprise there, cloth is the only thing that drops in this Guild -.-

Sure, but thats not really a plus if u have so many filling the needs of half that much. Ppl being benched cos everyone should get a try =/= fun.

You have to keep in mind as well that gearing ppl who need the same type of gear takes a lot longer. Hunters, Rogues, Enha Shammys, Ferals, we all use same trinkets, same rings, neck, back, not to mention same weapons in certain cases. You don't rly want half your raid betting on the same gear. I am not talking about BRF as it is almost over and most of the ppl are geared, but Hellfire is not a long way away and if you expect in 4months from now to once again have 4-5 less melee then you have to understand that the Guild progress is being slowed down as those ppl that left probably took a decent chunk of gear away.

Anways, don't get the wrong idea, I have nothing vs ur friend, and as stated it is not my call :)

Super, dk, palas, Warriors all have same gear use bar tokens since word start. Gerald rogues monks again with hunters for trinkets. Mages locks priests for dps cloth so your going to have competition anyway. If you want a comparison just go high mail start of wood with 3 dks, 5 Paladins and 3 warriors as plate wearers all rolling same gear. The system we have in place is a just and fair one and working better than when we was in highmaul. Competition for gear is part of mythic raiding same as rotation although certain classes are being benched more than others and with summer approaching the 20 only attending raids are going to kill our progression. Unless we get 100% attendance from everyone all the time than we need more bodies.

Exceptional geared players we shouldn't be turning away particular if already at same progression. Fear of not getting gear should be last on anybody's concern.

Damn autocorrect not going through whole post on phone...

Its not a fear of not getting gear, its a general fear of over-recruiting something we don't rly need (More melee).

But fine, I am not against him joining, just had to be said we have too much melee (My opinion).

I'm not very concerned about gear and I think this application warrants a trial. I will let Aretum decide if he wants another melee.

I forgot to say that my current progress in BRF is 7/10 mythic!  Also been in Maidens progress to the last 20% doing the boat.

Of course I understand if you have enough melee damage dealers.  I'm happy to sit on the bench and be a sub.

Well, it would be nice with another feral in the guild, especially since you seem to know your class and spec, so i can have someone to pester with stupid questions! ;D

Hi Flame!

You can poke an officer for an invite. Please keep in mind that we expect at least a 75% attendance and even higher than that for prioritization purposes. If you can't make it to a raid we expect you to make sure Aretum/Naphar knows about it or that you make a post on these forums.

We're currently extending our lockout to get some progress done, so we might not be able to give you a lot of gear in these few weeks leading up to 6.2

See you in game!

Hey guys, thanks for giving me a trial.  Sadly I just have too much stuff going on IRL at the moment to be a reliable raider.  Sorry for not figuring this out sooner.  Good luck clearing BRF before 6.2!

Sorry to hear this decision as said earlier mate, hope you find a guild suitable to your time restraints.

All the best mate.
