Title: Raider Application - Warlock (DPS) - Qulthal
Post by: Applicant on December 03, 2018, 08:00:42 pm
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Qulthal
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Qulthal/advanced
Class/Spec: Warlock (DPS)
Member Type: Raider

Personal Info:

My name is John. I'm from Greece and I'm 31 years old. I'm employed in the army and currently study for my second degree, on mech. eng.

Class/Spec:

I play affliction, as it's proven to be the strongest dps spec, at the moment, with the least loss of dps due to movement. I have tried destro but I did not really like it. Still, if it's buffed to a point that it surpasses affliction at some point, I'll be more than glad to adjust.
My ilvl is 379/380 on affli/destro respectively.

I currently sim as mastery(primary) over haste(secondary), but that's too fluid for my class, as the two stats are really close. So, I've enchanted/gemmed mastery and used quick nav. to compensate for both. Warlocks are really gear-dependent, though, so it all depends on the pieces you get. Balancing mastery and haste through sim (hectic and patchwerk) is the way to go, I think.
I prefer Cor+Agony(with Sudden Onset) over triple-dotting with SL, as the dps is the compensated in fights with adds, through gain of GCDs. Other than that, it's: cast and maintain UA (if the shard generation is good) and haunt. CDs align pretty well and Darkglare is still amazing, despite the last nerfs.

Alts:

I'm not sure what relevant includes. I have a s.priest and a warrior at ~350ilvl and a fresh hunter at ~340ilvl.

Professions:

I have Alchemy (for the bonus) and tailoring for those juicy 385 recipes (one of these days I'll get those 395-with-gem-slot gloves, I know it).

Raiding Experience:

I used to raid back in the past (vanilla, BC, WotLK) and some on Cataclysm. I just recently came back, on the end of the Legion. I always played dps. Back then it was hunter and shadow priest, and from my recent comeback, it's my warlock.  I'm currently at 4/8 Mythic Uldir and 872 r.io.

Previous Guilds:

The only relevant guild is my current, Going Place. Unfortunately, we stopped raiding, as some core raiders lost interest in the game and quit WoW.

Availability:

As I already said, I'm currently studying for my second degree. I'm free some evenings of the week (that's up to me alone, so I make do). I work morning shifts and study on the afternoon and most nights. I make room for raids, however hard the rest of my schedule may be. Noteworthy is my (last) exams period that starts at mid-to-end January.

Communication:

I am, yes. My accent sucks, due to lack of the use of language, but I cope. I can use TS or any other cooms platform. I do have a mic and am confortable to use it.

Computer / Connection:

Both my computer and my connection are more than adequate. Bar any weirdness here and there, everything's more than stable.

Addons/UI:

UI: https://i.imgur.com/r4GHLSI.jpg
Exorsus Raid Tools, int announce, DBM and Details for raids. ElvUI for my personal preference of UI manipulation most of the relevant Weak Auras for my class and raiding (groups for vectis and the like).

Other Games:

Currently, nothing else. I play the occasional single-player RPG, but that's that.

Why Iron Edge?

Since my guild broke apart, I asked around, and one of my guild mates told me about you guys. He also applied here (under the Aksar name I think), and brought along couple other, I think. My main reason is a guild that goes for a two-day-raid schedule - because lets be honest, we don't have as much time as we did back when we were 20 - but still has a mind for progression.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

What I offer is commitment and discipline on the cause. I will be honest: you will not probably get the best warlock there is out there, on me. I do try, and mostly succeed, though. I like to get feedback, both positive and negative, strive to learn from my mistakes, and have the state of mind to work under commitment to a cause. You will never hear me complaining, or judging other, because everyone gets his share on mistakes. That's it.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

As I mentioned above, a guildie, Aksar, told me about you.

Last Words?

I think I have covered everything I wanted to say. Anything else, you can contact me in game anytime, or at Dakar#2558, on Bnet. Thanks for reading my application, and I hope to hear from you soon.

Hi John,

I like your application and I think you have the right attitude about raiding. However, we're currently doing quite well on warlocks and we've recently taken on someone else. For that reason I cannot guarantee you a raid spot at this time.

Good luck on your search and keep in touch with your friends, should our situation change.

Alright, thanks a lot for replying. If anything changes, let me know through my battle tag, or through Aksar. Take care.
