Hello, Iron Edge!
I am applying for the main raid.
Character: Meffy
Armory: https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/eu/Kazzak/MeffyClass/Spec: Mage (DPS)
Member Type: Raider
Personal Info:30 year old from UK - I work in business analysis and digital transformation. I also go to the gym and train Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, I’m fairly easy to get along with and enjoy a guild atmosphere where people can joke around without it becoming toxic or full of drama.
Class/Spec:Im playing Arcane as its meta, though I can play all specs of mage. my item level is 317
Fundamentally, something I've learnt about gearing is its entirely situational to YOUR specific loadout. an upgrade for you could be a downgrade for another mage. It really depends on secondary stats. In midnight season 2, the aim is to have a even spread(ish) of secondarys, with a slight favour towards Haste. this is due to diminishing returns for going all in on a stat. as for rotation, we want to avoid capping on Salvo as much as possible, mathematically, its better to barrage on 13 salvo if you have a missiles as this is the highest chance of proccing prismatic bolt - one of our hardest hitting abilities. Aim to avoid capping or munching clear casting too.
For my burst, I use arcane surge and then set up Missiles into Arcane Barrage, applying Touch of the Magi while the barrage or Prismatic Bolt is still travelling so the damage lands inside Touch. I use Touch on cooldown rather than holding it unnecessarily, with every second Touch lining back up with arcane surge.
Alts:I have a level 306 Arms warrior
Professions:I don't currently use any professions
Raiding Experience:Back in WoD I raided at quite a high level, in the opening tier my guild (Silence) achieved a WR ~ 300 for imperator mar'gok. I had a big break from mythic raiding since then up until I joined Dark Substance, for BFA, we hit around world ~600 for Jaina and G'huun
Previous Guilds:I've not raided for a while so this isn't really applicable, I'm in a social guild atm.
Availability:I have a remote job, and no dependencies, in other words I can play all evenings and im pretty flexible
Communication:English is my native language as I was born in the glorious UK. I have a blue yeti microphone so the mic quality is pretty crisp
Computer / Connection:Stable internet, I play on Kazzak, no DC's. No FPS issues, I run a modest RTX 2080 graphics card.
Addons/UI:DBM, Raidbots, details. I tend to have an addon free philosphy when it comes to WoW after so many things breaking after patches, I've ditched the heavy addon setup. UI here:

Why Iron Edge?I like that fact that the guild is international, the idea that playing a game online and connecting with people from all over the world is really interesting to me. I value having a social guild who I can connect with as I'm pretty introverted IRL. I hope that Iron Edge is a place I can call my second home
What can I offer Iron Edge?I think the main things I can offer Iron Edge are reliability, a willingness to improve and someone who genuinely wants to become part of the guild rather than just joining for raid nights and loot.
As a player, I take my own performance seriously. I keep up with my class, sim my gear, review logs and try to understand where I’m losing damage I’m currently working on improving my Arcane Mage and have been comparing my casts and damage against stronger players to understand exactly what they are doing differently. I’m open to feedback and if I make a mistake, I would rather have it pointed out so I can correct it. I also understand that doing mechanics properly and helping to kill the boss matters more than protecting my parse.
I communicate clearly, can take a joke and don’t bring unnecessary drama into a group. At the same time, I know when to focus and listen during progression. I would turn up prepared, learn the fights in advance and give as much notice as possible if I ever couldn’t attend.
The long-term community side of Iron Edge is one of the main reasons it appeals to me. I’m not only looking for a place to raid. I’d also like to run Mythic+, spend time on Discord and get to know the people I’m playing with. I’m looking for a guild I can settle into, keep improving with and hopefully remain part of for a long time.
