hacked
« on: September 08, 2008, 03:17:21 pm »
yup, got hacked. dont know how, I havent downloaded any addons or wow-related stuff in ages.

funny thing is i only have pvp gear. they stole my 1k gold (w00t) and destroyed my s3 staff so i would even realize ive been haxxed . they obviously sold/de'd the little pve gear i had, like my T2 and spellfire set :].

anyway, under investigation now but i should get my stuff back. i will format my drive tomorrow.

anyone got any idea how this might have been done so i can prevent it?

Most likely a friend with your password.

Some kind of warez software is the most common source of trojan, if you are sure you don't go to 'bad' sites with a shit web browser.

Get a blizz authenticator!

AVG aswell. Detected a virus this afternoon from my downloaded file. And wouldn't even open it.

It's really desent imo. Easy to use, doesn't bring up annoying spams and uninstalls easily if you want to.

I use NOD now and it's really amazing. Use AVG before, didn't have any problems but I just didn't like it. And also used Avast and it's really shit, it can't protect your computer!

yo,

thanks for the replies. got my stuff back already, didnt even take a week.

formatting my drive and installing XP and all drivers took like 1-2 hours and installing wow and patching/installing addons took like 3 :o.
