Hey Iron Edge,
unfortunately i'm not that well in finding good introductional words, so lets skip that and go to the application straight ahead
About Myself- Name: Youlin (its Chinese, male, that is)
- Age: 19
- Location: Homburg (a (too) little town in Germany) where im forced to live
- what I do all day long: no job yet, just a college student, in like 6 years i'll be a doc (hopefully)
I guess it's time to say something about myself. At the age of 9 my family came to Germany in order to study and work and because it went all well, we desiced to stay here. I guess that's the best thing that happened so far! Not only I dont need to learn that much like the kids in China (some of them even commit suicide due to the pressure), I had plenty chances to see more aspects in life and of the world. The story goes on and I inevitably discovered wow and was fascinated by it. But because I was just a few months from my final secondary-school exams, I started afterwards :3 I guess i could have started ealier, since I'm playing a few hours a day and still passed every exam at the collegue. I know, its only the first year and everything is easy, so thats why i was so excited when I discovered your guild. According to your recruitment information, you only have two firm raid days a week and still acquired most of the raiding achievements available. In my opinion thats a sign of strength, purposefulness and itelligent scheduling, every single point skyrocketed my interest and when i read that paladin recruitment is still open, i immediately started writing (:

I know this is somehow poor. But let me explain with the words of knaughty of maintankadin.com: "Does your group have enough skill?"
Unfortunately i chose to play a toon that has a somehow inevitable design error: you are dependend on your guild and group. Doesn't matter how good you're, if your guild is only mediocre, you cant manage anything. And here lies the problem: good guildes already have good tanks. I experienced this when i hit 70 and joined my first guild. When it was time for raiding, the leaders always chose the already experienced, well geared tanks over me since this way they could guarantee a smoothless raiding evening. I on my side had to go with PuG's and hope for them to be good. A dd on the other hand who entered roughley the same time was picked to join the guild raids immediately. I asked the leader why and he explained to me, and i must confess this is somehow logical, but not very fair, that the lack of a little damage potential is not as big a impact as lack of tanking potential. After all there a more than 15 DD's and only 1-3 tanks.
Sorry, this was a bit too much of whining and crying, but i hope some of you can understand this problem. So this time i'm aiming for a slot of a experienced guild to gather more experience for myself and to become better this way.
Guild History
- List any previous guilds and your reasons for leaving them:
<Hordnungsamt> (a pun about horde and Ordnungsamt (the german word for Public Order Office)) on Blutkessel is my first guild so far. With them I got into the concept of raiding, planning and having fun in a raid. But in the end, I was unhappy how the guild is evolving, or to be more precise, how it is
not evolving. This giuld started as a casual fun guild with people who know each other irl and started wow together. But after a few months, they still couldn't establish a working discipline while raiding. Not only are people invited to participate who are not prepared for this fight in terms of reading guides (so we have to explain them how it works and wiping a few times before they finally understood) and gear (some people dealt significantly less damge than me on dps fights like patchwerk).
<insert coin> the top guild on my server before patch 3.0, the guild master ninjaed the vault and left, the successor guild also split, and the next successor guild is the one i am in and again it is about to split. At this point I decided that I had no chance to improve myself on this relatively youngrealm (it's only one or two years old).
So to cut a long story short, I'm seeking for a more elitist, established guild, where people are not only fascinated by the game, i.e. nice soundtrack, nice instance architecture, but are also able to get the most out of the game, in term of understanding it, playing by its rules instead of one's own (i.e. theorycrafting against personal feeling) and last but not least people who can wants a goal and will work for it.
Me as a Player:I admit: I'm a theorycrafting nerd. I can't stand it, when the tooltip isn't showing the same number as my calculator, I hate it, when some fractions of a rating is unused or even exceeded the cap. On one hand, I can be sure which piece of gear is better, but on the other hand, its soooooo time consuming! I want to start a druid healer but by only looking at the amounnts of numbers, caps, rating conversions etc. i lose faith
Additionly, i spend a lot of time to search for guides ( e.g. the guides to the new ulduar bosses in ulduar ). IMO you should be doing by learning, but there is no way you can do something, if you dont know just how, amirite?
At last I have to confess that sometimes I have the feeling, that I'm playing more often with the interface than the actual game

I'll upload some pics when I have time for it :3
i guess now is my last chance to convince you to take me, so let me start:
when i heard of wow, that was 2 years ago, i wondered how the hell is ist possible that people are sitting in front of the computer, staring to the back of their character? then i really met one of them, and he explained the game to me. the roles everybody has to fullfil for the whole system to work, aka raiding. i was fascinated that there was so much depth to it. not the skill of the single person is important, but of the whole group. i played wc3 for some time and admit that i was a total loser. the everchanging portions of the fight, reading the movement and strategy of the enemy was never a thing of mine. but wow was totally different. you know what is coming to you. you can prepare. you must be prepared. unfortunately, my time and finance as a normal pupil back then didn't allow me to start wow. i was restricted to lurk wowwiki and making my first steps on privates. but when i made my german a-level i started immediately on officials and i was not disappointed. suddenly i understood the urge, why people are trying to improve themselves: simply because you can. and when i found the wonderful maintankadin forum and tankspot i was really lost into theorycrafting, imo the best part of the game. it does not require quick reaction, endless patience or a brilliant mind, just juggling some numbers.
so i know now what i really want and i want to play together with people who are aiming for the same thing: to make their chracter perfect. So please iron edge, take me to tank for you.
PS: if you think the name is strange, i wanted to name the paladin "bananana", but it was already used, so i took anananas, from the german word "ananas" = pineapple
