Doomslay, Orc Fury warrior, realm transfer (B-team)

Personal Information

Hey guys, my names Joe, I live in Killamarsh in Sheffield! I work at a place called "star house" where i do data management and entry, its boring but gets me some money, im there 18 hours a week, normally home by 5. Gaming is my main interest in life but i also like fishing, some sports, general socialising and whatnot.
I'm quiet at first, but very social when its one to one, Quick thinking and logical, i am "with it" so to speak, repetition isn't needed to make me act.

Character Information

My Character name is doomslay, a fury warrior.

Link to armory: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?cn=Doomslay&r=Wildhammer
Link to talents: http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-talents.xml?r=Wildhammer&cn=Doomslay&gn=TECHNOVIKINGS

My warrior is my first and only character that i play a lot, i think i got lucky and picked the one for me when i rolled it, about 2 and a half years ago.
I mostly spent my time messing about and leveling during TBC and only really got into raiding at the launch of WOTLK, although i have done some black temple and also gruul, at 70, but nothing thats worth going into detail about.

I've currently got 2 fury specs, one is for single target fights, no glyph of cleaving or improved cleave.
the other fury spec is for LK as i've specced into cleave + glyphed for improved cleave and piercing howl for the valkyr's.
It also has the shouts for when we lack a paladin or drums, or a combination of both.

My rotation is as follows.

Heroic strike (untill my fingers down to the knuckle)
Bloodthirst, whirlwind and then slam on the procs.

Raiding

I am currently available every night of the week, although fridays + saturdays i tend to go out, but i am always willing to cancel for progression and/or if i am needed.

More specific times:

Mondays: Anytime
Tuesdays: Anytime
Wednesdays: Anytime
Thursdays: Anytime
Fridays: Anytime
Saturday: If needed, i will be there.
Sundays: Same as above.

Gaming (optional) and World Of Warcraft history

My gaming history is quite bright. I am in a gaming clan called "LND" (legends never die), we have 2 teams for both call of duty and gears of war, both of these i have played at proffesional levels, gears of war my team finished 4th in europe out of 32teams that won their spot out of 10, 000's of people in the tournament, this event was televised and if any of you have sky, our matches are occasionally on there still, the program is MLG and its Pulse gaming.
In regards to warcraft i first picked up the game after a friend suggested it to me around july, 2008. I quickly progressed passed him in terms of knowledge and level, i've never played another MMO and i fell in love with this one.
As i said before i've never had the chance to finish much TBC content and i'd love too, same with Vanilla.

Why do you want to join Iron Edge?
After my good friend ulti-who pointed you out as a guild he has relations with, i've been following your progression, i am very very impressed with the community, also reading some of the applications that have been posted, you guys seem hilarious, some of the posts had me litterally creasing up.
The guild i am currently in, TECHNOVIKINGS is going down the pan, a few of the officers who i talk to often are quitting the game, the atmosphere is tense and people aren't turning up to our raids, I'd also like to raid along side you guys and my good friend Jam.

What can I offer to Iron Edge?
I can offer you a competent raider, reliable and friendly.
I'm always prepared and pretty much up for anything thats going on.

Last words?
Thanks for reading my application, i look forward to the hilarious replys, even if it is ripping me to shreds!

Gear is alright, specs are alright, glyph of bloodthirst is always shit - glyph of execute is better if you're not using gylph of cleaving.

Almost forgot* Good app and good luck.

Also, cute to list your rotation as fury warrior :D Personally, I have heroic strike bound to mousewheel down, and cleave bound to mousewheel up, using a mouse that can freely spin the mousewheel. I recommend it heartily.

Yeah, i've only tried out bloodthirst glyph recently, it seems okay for single target fights, execute seems to be useless nowadays but maybe the glyphed version will be worthwhile, i'm always open to suggestions/being told what to do.
love improving my character.

thanks for the good lucks too :D

Also in regards to the scroll wheel thing, i've tried that yeah, but i'm so used to spamming 2 during fights it was harder not too haha.

Good application and decent level of gear,

Seeing that u have another spec tailored for LK;
I noticed that u have taken 2/3 Precision, this, of course caps you with your current 201 hit but still a better dps talent to take then.. say Unbridled Wrath.

Also I'm running with Heroic Fury.I think its very useful in many situations and seeing many fellow warriors also choose it amongs Improved Intercept.

wat

bloodthirst glyph, doubles the teensy healing bloodthirst does (which is frequently overhealing anyway). How is that good in any way, and specifically for single target fights? I actually double checked what the BT glyph does just now to see if it had changed from this thinking it would be ridiculous for someone to say such things about it were it still the healing bonus.

Execute glyph -> more damage done by execute (which you are almost certainly using in your rotation gaps between BT and WW when slam proc isn't up) -> good. Even without the execute glyph you should be executing when slam proc isn't available below 20% and when the GCD won't overlap more than .1 onto BT or WW.

And as stated by Justa, heroic fury is indispensable in ICC where there is often plenty of long distances to cover during the fight.

Okay yep point taken :) I'll be re-thinking my spec tonight and my glpyhs.
thankyou for the advice guys, much appreciated.

As i said i have only chosen to try out the bloodthirst glyph, i'll be sure to change it to the execute as soon as possible.

I dont know alot about Fury warriors as for dps things used, but dont you guys use Rend? once in a while and wouldnt it be worth taking the 2 points in improved Rend instead of Deflection? :P Not sure im just trying to think dps instead of tanking :)
I think I was born to tank.

Rend requires Battle Stance, and i do believe Fury is 100% berzerk stance. I think you are thinkin of Arms and the Overpower proc they get from Rend Ticks.

1) don't think
2) where did u saw deflection? :D
3) rending would gimp our dps too much since u can't rend in berserker stance

Also u can't get overpower proc from rend if u are not arms. ;)

Nah rend isn't really viable, although me and a friend once tried to work it into a rotation, you were a bit too starved from swapping stances, it wasn't really worth it.

"3) rending would gimp our dps too much since u can't rend in berserker stance" is not particularly true. Eetion is correct that it's viable...

...if you can DO IT RITE, regarding both timing it and having the talents, it can be a DPS gain (in the region of 30-100 dps ish), especially if talented and glyphed, and performed above 70% hp on the boss by stance dancing, switching off HS briefly, rending, dancing back and continuing as normal on-the-double. However, it's tricky and if you get it wrong, which is easy to do, it's a dps loss. Rage starvation shouldn't be an issue though and certainly not in ICC with full raidbuffs.

Incase you're wondering - I don't bother with it. It's a smallish gain to be had and something of a gamble with the nature of slam procs or even if you simply fumble your fingers while doing it.
