this game is so pretty if it were alive i would fuck it

i havent finished the game yet but so far i realy like it
the combat seems rather clunky at first but the thing is you cant just run in to things and start pressing your mouse button the hack things apart you will get raped in no time
having to use all your tools available is a good thing

the story seems rather complicated... sure it starts with you bieng falsy blamed for killing the king (spoiler alert not that you dont get that information after the prologue)and you have to clear your name while going after the real killer but there seems to be more to it then that

now i allready mentioned the graphics bieng pretty but i will say it again this game probably has the best graphics since crysis and whats more is that even on the highest settings the game runs smooth like butter (unlike crysis at the time) the screenshots you have seen? yeah the game looks exactly like that

anyway this game is good and if you want to buy 1 and only 1 game this year you should buy this one

providing you like RPG's

I run it on full settings... except for the 'ubersampling'.  Destroys my fps!

Dear god this game was so good! Would have liked it a bit longer, like 1 more chapter or the longer final chapter, not disappointed tho. Games very pretty and for once you feel like you can actually influence the story, which you do.
I guess the assassin who tried to kill foltest at the end of witcher 1 was also part of School of Viper, but Letho didnt mention him once, nor did the game.. Or did I miss it?
Yeah this game is pretty good. If they'd improve combat some more for the next part, that'd be splendid. (I'm playing on easy to avoid combat frustration due to unbalance mentioned in reviews).

I'm running it at medium settings, and unlike Crysis which runs perfect on max settings, Witcher2 runs "just okay-ish". What CPU/RAM/GPU & resolution are you running it on, Grishnag?

I basicly run everything on max except ubersampling as i said earlier in this thread

CPU: i7 920
RAM: 4 gig of ram
GPU: HD5870

i actualy had to look up that shit cause i forgot what kind of CPU i had in there

Anyway uploaded an image for the settings og the game

Nice, I raised my gfx settings now, too. The game still runs with the same FPS while now looking even better. Damn nice. No clue why the games autodetect rates my system as "shit".

However, I now get crashes-to-desktop frequently when talking to guys in cities. Hrng.

Yeah, it "auto-detected" my system to medium... Maybe it tests with that ubersampling on?

Games autodetecting settings seems frequently awful lately. I wouldn't put much trust in that kind of thing.

Finished the game, following the "Special Forces"/Roche branch. Really really good, best RPG since ME2.

Also, best lighting and depth of field I ever saw. Hopefully Skyrim will look that hot, too.

It's pretty crazy that chapter 2 is completely different depending on whether you side with Roche or the Scoia'tael (in hindsight, the Roche branch I chose happens to be the more interesting one, go lucky me!). A slight "lol" on the supposed 16 different endings thou - having read a FAQ after finishing, all game branches seem merge in the same ending.

While playing, I was a bit confused about all the side characters mentioned (Yennifer, several kings/kingdoms) that actually aren't in the game. I assume those all appeared in Witcher1? Putting so much weight on the backstory, it was a bit meh there was no summary of Witcher1 to explain that shit to newcomers like me.

i did the Iorveth route and i thought that one was rather good myself might have to do the roche path aswell

also Yennifer was his lover (if you payed attention you would know that :P ) in the books (havent read them but i know that much) and the other kingdoms come from there too

thing is it feels like the game should go on for more then the chapters you had in the game
