Indeed Goza. I know I play RPG games not for the combat, but for the quickload, which is what makes Witcher 2 such a failure of a game until the most recent patch.

Can you imagine?! A game without quickload... how are we meant to progress throughout a game... without quickload?!

Certainly, it merits the title of worst gaming experience of my life. I mean... no quickload? A good story, beautiful graphics and otherwise high levels of competence cannot offset this.

Your assessment is wholly incorrect - this is no case of 'harmed affection', emo, or nerd; (lol wat, calling someone a nerd on these forums, gtfo) I haven't even played more than about an hour or two of the game. The case is simply that you're so spoiled it was too disgusting not to pass comment on.

I haven't even played more than about an hour or two of the game.
but you are so self-confident on making statements. :o That makes everything clear.
Anyway, seriously...
That's just how it works. Some people like it, some people dont.  There is no rule that everybody should be happy with a game.
If nobody plays a RPG just for combat, that still does not mean the combats must be boring.
Run run, make a tour around the 6 knights, hit someone, role on the floor to escape from the swing of the sword, one more tour , again the same routine until u get all of them.
PS. Lets just say I don't have the patience like i had in the past. And i easily give up on a game if there is no Quickload button.
i must also add that i hate games when they don't have the -space- button set on jump.  :P
edit: i added a good example

the description says: Combat Scene from the The Witcher 2 Prologue. Played on Hard Difficulty. Mouse and Keyboard were used, no Controller/Gamepad.

i assume he does not use any trap because he wants to make it more challenging. (since it's a youtube video)  i used the traps on this stage which did not make a huge difference. Took me at about 9-10 tries to get how to do it.
Run run run, hit, Run run run, trap, hit, run run..
The hardest part was the 1st Dragon stage, where i was aware where to stay, when to run because the burning effects were missleading/wrong. i died a lot, and learned by heart.

the bit where you and the king is walking.. You are surrounded by some flames, and u need to move slowly forward by not getting burned.

The bridge thing was more like arcade and easy. But still needed 3-4 tries.

Oh that bit, yes.  I just ran through that, killed the guards when they came and continued running forward.  Didn't have to avoid anything, really.

On hard.

I did exactly the same thing, but on normal, did that shield rune and knockdown rune and slapped the guards
