Personal Information

Hey there dear Iron Edge members. My name is Oguz (yeah, a Turkish name ). I'm 29 and currently living in the beautiful city of Istanbul, Turkey, with my beloved wife. I'm working as an electronic engineer.


Character Information

Now, that's the topic I like the most.

Cutting it short, here is my lovely, precious rogue named Brainsâw.

I'm well aware that she's a human, and in a different realm. :/ But that's another part that makes my application interesting imho. I'll try to present the story behind this char and my WoW experience at the next topic.

First of all, I would love to give some basic information about the character's gear, professions, etc.

In order to increase my dmg output, I still use 2 parts, head and shoulder, of Dark Phoenix set instead of Blackfang (head and shoulder that i own are 384 ilvl, and i hate them ); which gives additional 6% fire dmg.

Enchanting (525) and Jewelcrafting (525) at your service with all the Cata recipes. In addition, I have Fishing, Cooking (all necessary recipes), Archeology and First Aid, all maxed out.

Considering reputations, she has Exalted status with all of the Cataclysm and WotLK factions, thus not missing a single faction reward.

I always try to keep every slot with BiS gems and enchantments/enhancements, as you can check out from her armory. She does not have any missing ench or gems on any of the items.

I'm currently playing in Combat spec, with Subtlety OS for PvP occasions. My basic rotation in Combat is an opener with Garrote(if I can) for a start-up SnD, Sinister till 4 cp, Revealing, Evis, and so forth on, keeping SnD and TotT up.

I'm pretty meticulous about bringing flasks/food(my favourite: Skewered Eel, yummy!) to every single raid.


Raiding Availability

Currently I can raid every day of the week except Mondays and Wednesdays. (salsa lessons with my wife, oh snap :/) In any case of nonattendance, I would not forget to report my raid/class leader and keep'em updated.


World Of Warcraft History

Well, I've been playing World of Warcraft since 2004, starting at the beta servers. My first character was a handsome night elf warrior named Strygasilver on Darksorrow server. I've spent all my Vanilla times in Darksorrow, most of them in Flying Circus guild, which was back then the rank 1 guild in both PvE and PvP content. I was lucky enough to clear all raid content including MC, BWL, AQ20/40 and Naxx in Vanilla.

I continued to play my warrior in the Burning Crusade till I gave a break right after WotLK was released. After transferring him to Dunemaul, I dinged him to 80, and abandoned him in the forsaken streets of Dalaran, due to the mandatory military service

After my marriage, I've made a fresh start with my rogue and been playing with her ever since. I have 144 days /played and I deeply endeavour to give my best, doing whatever it takes to contribute completing the raiding content as a rogue. I'm a dedicated, handsome, muscular, funny, smart, cocky player. :p Joking aside, I'm pretty aware of what kind of behaviours are expected in such a guild environment and I can assure you guys that I'm completely purified of any kind of ambitions which might cause disrespect or discomfort of any kind.


Why do you want to join Iron Edge?
After all the crap above, now is the time to make you guys a confession.

I'm a former member of Catastrophe. As some of you might have heard, most of the active guild members quit playing WoW and switched to Star Wars The Old Republic. We haven't been able to raid properly for almost 2 months and after the realm first Fireland HCs, I got stuck with the late 6/8 hc progress in DS

After slacking around without raiding, some very close irl friends of mine convinced me to transfer my rogue to Burning Legion. That's the reason I've recently changed my faction and realm :/ But tbh, I'm bored to death here in BL with no actual raiding progress

I honestly don't know how your attitude might be towards a former Catas member But I would love to give it a try in Iron Edge and persistently prove my dedication for further achievements, even though you do not have much left

As a rational, dedicated, and social player, I am willing to be a part of Iron Edge and share the knowledge, experience, and friendship with you guys.

As much as I like your application and you seem to have great experience and ok gear. We only raid two nights a week - monday and thursday. So if you can never raid on monday you would never reach an attendance above 50% which is not acceptable to us.

So unless you can move your salsalessons to another night of the week, we will have to decline your application.

Our Monday classes are in fact a substitute for the Friday classes, a case of preference in other words. I would gladly talk to my wife and switch to Wednesday-Friday.

Gear looks fine, but your reforging is all over the place. You're well above the spell hit cap and exp cap, and have reforged to crit on your helm as well as not reforging out of crit on your chest, please explain.

Also, 65 crit on back and 65 mast for gloves are better then what you have enchanted.

Check your reforging and enchants, shadowcraft is a great way to optimize your reforging. Other than that, do you have some worldoflogs to show us? Flex that dps epeeeen!

Its kinda gay though. Since archz is linking the rankings for his spec only. To get ranked as combat you need 9k more dps, than you need to get ranked as assasination.

Because combat is a lot better :p You can't do 70k on that boss as muti, just can't be done unless you keep all the adds alive and let us spam fok

Just like no rogue can ever be compared to a fire mage on that fight (Yor'sahj)

But as the comparison Skinke mentioned. What is the point of ranking if you are using a bad spec for the fight?

Well I just can't play combat, the RSI is killing me

Also, I did a lot more dmg than Ragestep that fight, probably because we got so good aoe. I bet the top ranked combat rogues had blade flurry up a lot more than Side (and they didn't have to swap to the mana void all the time qq)
