Personal Info:

My name is Michael, I'm 28 years old and live in Belgium. I work in a multimedia and gaming shop.

Spec:

At the moment I'm playing Frost because it fits my gear bether and because I have been playing frost for a long time now, I recently changed my secondary spec from fire to arcane because I wanted to try that out laten on.

Class:

I understand my class very wel, these are the stats I go for:
Intellect > Spell Hit (15%) > Haste > Mastery = Crit (23%).
1. Intellect as main stat cause it ncreases damage dealt by spells and slightly increases critical strike chance.
2. Spell Hit cap to 15% so spells can no longer miss on bosses
3. Haste because it decreases cast time and increases DoT ticking speeds and is good for my frost spec.
4. Mastery increases damage against Frozen targets and increases the damage done by my Summon Water Elemental.
5. Cittical strike until 28%. At 28% Crit, I will effectively have a 100% Crit rate against bosses.

Rotation:
Armor: Frost Armor
 
DPS Priority:
 1.Nether Tempest or Frost bomb maintained at all times. Procs Brain Freeze.
 2.Frozen Orb to proc Fingers of Frost.
 3.Frostbolt to maintain its stacking debuff.
 4.Frostfire Bolt with Brain Freeze.
 5.Ice Lance with Fingers of Frost.
 6.Frostbolt as a filler spell.


Alts:

I have a warlock and a druid, they dont have a high ilvl yet but they can be helpfull for their professions, alchemy and tailoring.

Professions:

I have mining and jewelcrafting. I went jewelcrafting cause in the past I provided gem's for the guild, I have lots of recipes and already can make most of the gem's available. I have mining cause its helping for my jewelcrafting.

Raid Experience:

I don't really play pvp so not much experience there, I mostly play Pve. I have been playing tot, know all the tacts there, but have been unlucky with the guild with finding decent puggs to fill our spots. Mostly healers and tanks were the problem.

I know the tacts for every boss on normal but I will have to look into the hc ones a little more by watching some more movies.

Previous Guilds:

Bloodbound: Reason I left: People not showing up for raids even when they signed up for it. Always had to pug it, not knowing what you gona get.

Availability:

I work and I'm free at wednesday and sunday. I'm mostly online around 19:45h gametime.

Communication:

My english is fine, I have teamspeak, vent and mumble and I use my microphone. I'm also a good listener.

Computer / Connection:

I have a good computer and ^have a good and stable network. I mostly never lag or get any dc.

Addons/UI:

I use DBM cause thats the main addon everyone should use when doing raids, its helpfull during the fight cause it tells you when to watch out or when to move. Next to that I use Recount, to have an other look to my dps and to see what I do different from other mage's and how I can increase my own dps.

Other Games:

Battlefield 3 and some single players when they get released like Farcry, Skyrim, Tomb raider, Hitman and soon Splintercell.

Why Iron Edge?

Recently I have been raiding with a couple of your guild members, we made good progress and had lots of fun and jokes through Teamspeak. I was looking for a nice and fun raiding guild with active members and Iron Edge looked like the place to be.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I'm an active player, who is mostly online afther work. Around 19:40h. I'm a very helpfull guy who helps guildmembers when I can. I'm a good listener and don't make mistakes twice.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge??

I have been raiding in tot 10 with a couple of your guild members

I just hope I'll get the chance to join your ranks. I can promise I'm a very skilled and active player and I will be happy to be a part of your community. I can understand if I can't raid the first weeks but I don't really mind as long as I can have a chance later on or with an other group.

Welcome to the IE forums Michael.
First of all i want to thank you for the decent and honest application u made. Spending some time on your application makes a good impression always.
Secondly, i want to inform u that we have 5 raiding mages at the squad right now, but it will not prevent me asking some questions to u if u do not mind.
I wonder why you think your gear fits frost better? To me, it fits better for fire. Also, arcane is the last spec u need to have unless u have (nearly) end game gear. Moreover, anyspec u play, u never use frost bomb, what is the reason u prefer that?
What is important for me is being dedicated and patience, do u have those qualifications? Good luck with ur application

About my gear...
I just think my gear is bether with frost cause I do more damage as frost then I do with fire. Or maybe thats just an illusion? Next to that people keep telling me arcane is the best, not really knowing if thats the truth or not because I haven't been arcane for a long time. When I looked it up I saw arcane was at the top of best dps spec for mages at a later ilvl.

Mainly I prefer nether tempest, I use that the most... Sometimes and with some fight I changed to Frost bomb, just for the 70% slow on the targets. But Nether tempest I use the most, just cause its an instant spell and I know frost bomb is not + you have more chances to get procs for frostfire bolt with nether tempest then with frost bomb. Also the target can already be dead before frost bomb triggers. So overal I know its not that good. I only use it sometimes for the slow on targets and thats only 5% of the times.

Next to that i'm very dedicated and have patience. Like I said before I don't really mind if I can't raid at the beginning or have to wait and I know the 5 other mages will come before me cause they have been with you guys for I don't know how long. Just wondering if I can pugg it if I can't come with you guys? just so the raiding week is not totally wasted?

Really excuse me for the late answer due to some health problems i have been facing for sometime.
Now let's see what we have here;
About the fire-frost-arcane thing, i do not want to call it an illusion but i still insist on my opinion. May be it's just u need to learn some tips about "how to up" ur fire dps. For arcane, the simulators dps can be baffling as they use ai. Nearly no latency and patchwork style. For arcane dps, u need a stable spot which is not suitable for heroic fights. Also the mages u might seen on Wol are there coz their raid are perfect and they fight just for wol, which means that mage usually gets many buffs from raid and does nothing besides dps. (Such as interrupting, cc'ing etc.)
Nether tempest should be used for fights including aoe, like Horridon fight. For single target fights LB is much better as it has been getting benefited by hast from now on. LB has a better dps on single target. Also as frost, nether tempest has more chances to trigger the free FFB. Frost Bomb is for pvp actually. May be usefull for some specific fights like tortos heroic but that's all.
At last but not least, as u mentioned, we have 5 highly geared mage in our roster. If u accept, i would vote "yes" for a social spot in the beggining as up some gear and be stable in the guild. Meantime we can have some time to optimize ur dps.
