[25 Man Casual Raid] Paladin (DPS) - Archý (XR)
« on: August 24, 2013, 04:59:35 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

Character: Archý
Server: Ravencrest
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Ravencrest/Arch%C3%BD/advanced
Class/Spec: Paladin (DPS)
Raid: 25 Man Casual Raid

Personal Info:

Hey my name is Dan, Im from Serbia. I’m currently in Serbia, starting my first year in University. I’ve been playing World of Warcraft for around 4 years now. Outside of gaming Im also into sports and lifting!

Spec:

My main spec is Retribution, its what I've been playing the most since I started playing this game. I am fully capable to play Holy and Protection. I guess the best choice would be to keep a Protection off spec since is uses close to identical gear as Ret's!

Class:

Stat weights and Capps
Str > Haste > Mastery = Crit (After Capping both Hit and Expertise at 2550 rating)
This is the baseline stat weight priority. Though they do vary as one transition from dungeon heroic gear to epics and heroic gear which shifts initially from using pure strength gems to Strength + Haste and pure haste gems as one transition to heroic gear. It is vital to have both hit and expertise capped since missed hit mean either a lost holy power point or even worse a 150k+ hit from Templar's Verdict.
I think one of my biggest strengths is analysis. Through the use of dbm and information which I acquire before raids (i.e youtube, boss guides, kill videos and icy veins) I am able to very quickly adapt to new encounters and mechanics and maximize my DPS and survivability in raids. I also really like to get involved in raid discussions and contribute all the information and ideas I have during progression to help secure a kill asap.
To ensure that my character is optimized I always keep up to date with stat weights from simulation-craft and use reforgelite to ensure that I'm making the most out of my gear.
Rotation (Baseline without Any 2 or 4 set effects applied)
Inquisition (3HP+ or under Divine Purpose), Templar’s Verdict With 5HP or under Divine Purpose), Exorcism, Hammer of Wrath (Under 20%), Crusader Strike, Judgment, Templar’s Verdict With 3HP
In AoE situations Templar’s Verdict is switched with Divine Storm and Execution Sentence is switched with Light Hammer. A light hammer is only worth using if passive healing is required or there are at least 2 targets we can use it on. And lastly Crusader Strike is replaced with Hammer of the Righteous on 3+ targets.
Glyphs
In terms of glyphs there is a number of ways to go about it. Glyph of Templar’s Verdict is very useful and reduces damage taken significantly (Same goes for its counterpart Glyph of Divine Storm. Glyph of Harsh Words is also very useful since it gives us an additional ranged spell which is useful in fights where I cannot melee attack anything for a period of time. Glyph of Exorcism is very viable now since it spreads the T15 debuff on all targets as well as doing the AoE damage. Finally the Glyph of Double Jeopardy is defiantly usefully on fights where one is constantly changing targets such as Horridon and Council.
Talents
My spec I adjust accordingly. Fights which require bursts of movement I use speed of light, fights which require movement I use at specific intervals I use Long Arm of the Law and Pursuit of Justice for constant movement. The Tier 2 spec is not useful, unless I’m required to CC at which point I’ll use Repentance. Tier 3, I have opted to go for Selfless Healer since it gives me the ability to heal myself in emergency situations, although sacred shield is very viable for fights like Dark Animus / Iron Qon where there are periods of inactivity. Tier 4 I find Clemency to be the most useful since it allows me to BoP the tanks twice when required on fights like Horridon and Durumu. Tier 5 is highly situational, Sanctified Wrath is generally the way to go, but if the raid requires more burst Single/AoE damage Holy Avenger is the better choice (A good example would be the adds on HC Megaera). And I said previous for Tier 6 you switch between Lights Hammer and Execution depending on the number of targets on a fight.
Gems
Currently my gemming consists of using: Quick Sun's Radiance since haste is most beneficial (Yellow Sockets), Fierce Vermilion Onyx (Orange/Red Sockets) or Lightning Wild Jade (Blue Sockets). When I obtain the Fabled Feather of Ji-kun I will switch to Forceful Wild Jade a Strength + Stamina gem, because Fabled Feather of Ji-kun will put me far above the hit cap and additional stamina will prove more useful than additional hit.

Alts:

None currently

Professions:

Alchemy its provide the base stat boost which other professions provide. Engineering since the synapse strings provide the biggest DPS boost due to the nature of Ret DPS.

Raid Experience:

Dragon Soul - Cleared
MSV, HoT & ToES - Clear ed
Throne Of Thunder - Clear ed

Previous Guilds:

Colour (Stormreaver):- I finished Dragon Soul as a reasonable time in the guild. I was quickly promoted to the "core” raider rank for my performance and the support I gave to the officer team. And therefore in Mists of Pandaria I was promoted to Role Leader. The reason why I joined Aurora was firstly because I wished to become more competitive and see content before the nerf hammer hits. Secondly I wanted to play in a surrounding where I have faith in other raiders currently instead of constantly worrying if some people will execute basic game mechanics properly due to their unwillingness to prepare for raids properly. I’m a type of person who believes you get what you earn, and having to play with such players can really bring down the game for me.

Aurora (Stormrage):- This is a very strong 3 day raiding guild and there I have had the opportunity to play with some of the most skilled players I've seen. Sadly the environment within Aurora isn't the same since the day I joined, and the server itself is completely empty. The final reason which pushed me into making the decision to leave the guild was that I had a couple of friends gather on Draenor and I wished to play with them.

Old School (Draenor):- I joined this guild with the intention to stay since the guild and the realm fulfilled my expectations, there I cleared ToT 13/13HC. Although after a while, the person I was sharing the account with (my brother) came back from military service we both decided it would be better to play separate accounts since we both wanted to play on a regular basis, and since he originally bought the account and had paid most of the game time I decided to forfeit to account to him. Thus ending my raiding career, due to me not having control over the account anymore.

Availability:

I should be able to keep a very high attendance unless I have an exam on a specific raid day, it shouldn't be a problem.

Communication:

I have no problems using VoIP’s in and outside or raids! I believe my English is legible.

Computer / Connection:

CPU: 3770k (O.C 4.5 Ghz)
GPU: 670 GTX directCU II
Motherboard: ASUS PRO P8Z77
SSD: Samsaung 840 PRO edition SSD
HDD1: 2x 500gb raid 0
HDD2: 1x 1.5TB

Addons/UI:

I use a number of add-ons, the most important being Bigwigs and Skada (both for Threat and DPS analysis). Other add-ons which I use which ensure I preform optimally are weak auras, ElvUI, CLCinfo, Clique and ACBcastbars to enable me to see all casts from my points of interest i.e. target, focus and targets' target.

Other Games:

CS:GO, LoL, Dota 2 and Starcraft 2

Why Iron Edge?

Apart from having friends in Kazzak and the raiding schedule of the guild suits me well.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I am a dedicated raider who performs to his maximum every raid, and ensures he is always up to date with all information regarding his class and raid bosses. I am ready to contribute outside of raids with any information I find which would make our kills happen easier/smoother. I always come fully ready to raids with both food and pots. I do my best to keep a high attendance. And lastly even though my application may not look it I’m a very social guy and love to joke on vent and have a blast when appropriate.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge??

Wowprogress

Last Words?

I am well aware that my character is lacking in gear, I hope that the experience and performance I had on my previous character will be enough to convince you to give me a chance to prove myself within your guild. As I said I am hardworking, dedicated and competitive, and I promise if I'm given a chance I will not let it go vain and I will prove to you that I will be a valuable asset to the guild.

Lastly I would like to thank you for taking the time to read my application (I hope it wasn't too boring) and hope to hear from you soon!

Welcome to Iron Edge forum, and thanks for the application. I just wanted to ask few questions. First, what I see in the armory that your paladin is alliance, are you going to change your faction? Second, are you willing to change server as well?

You appear to mostly have gear from previous tier LFR, and only one from the current, any reason? Also missing meta gem from helmet.

Thanks for bringing that up :)

Currently Im spamming ToES since I have 9 coins left from the Trove scenario. I have Dancing Steel, Strength Enchant and the DPS Meta in my inventory. ToES Drops my bracers, 2hander and Tier Helm. If I have no luck with the coins this week I will use the enchants on items I currently have.

As far as gear goes I dinged 90 about 4 days ago on this new account. (I explained my situation to your GM) This is what I could gather from the LFR.

Aha, cool. It just seemed a bit odd. We definitely could do with more melee, and a retridin would certainly help.

I spoke with this guy yesterday in game and gave him the tough interview, he seems motivated and ready to answer for himself.

And it seems reasonable to want to take raiding to a more casual level when starting the more work requiring parts of uni.

Bears like alts!

Thanks for the consideration, I've decided to withdraw my application. A group of my friend and myself have decided to start a guild!

Best of luck in 5.4 :)
