Hello, Iron Edge!
I am applying for the main raid.
Character: Mimfoe
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Mimfoe/advancedClass/Spec: Rogue (DPS)
Member Type: raider
Personal Info:My name is Jonas, I'm 24 years old and am from Copenhagen, Denmark.
I'm a freelance 3D artist / graphics designer, with a speciality in games design / environmental game design. Being a freelance artist means that I do pretty much all of my work from home, and pretty much control my own hours, since everything is based on deadlines.
I've played WoW pretty much since Vanilla, though had a break in MoP due to my dad becoming ill with cancer, and then I went off to study. I returned to WoW about 4 weeks ago, since I missed the feeling of going in-depth in a videogame, as well as the social aspect of the game.
I am a hard worker, and I put in a lot of and effort to do my best in any scenario, whether it be in life or in video games.
Class/Spec:I’ll explain this one spec by spec;
Subtlety (current mainspec):
Stat priorities while in best in slot gear:
[li]Agility[/li]
[li]Mastery[/li]
[li]Versitility[/li]
[li]Crit[/li]
[li]Haste[/li]
As of now my stat weights are a tiny bit different, where Mastery is actually slightly below both Versility and Crit, but this is due to my high amount of Haste in my gear, which I am desperately trying to get rid of. As soon as I get some more Versility instead of Haste, Mastery will go back above both Versility and Crit. Another factor in this, is also that I don’t have the Legendary Shoulders (
Mantle of the Master Assassin), which would throughout a fight give me 18+ seconds of 100% crit, making Mastery even better.
This is also the reasoning behind using neck enchant hidden satyr over trained soldier, though ring enchants are seemingly still worth using mastery over anything else, when simming.
Rotation, without going into too many details is as follows for
single target:
Pre-pot +
Shadow Blades ->
Shadow Strike ->
Backstab ->
Nightblade ->
Shadow Dance ->
Shadow Strike ->
SoD ->
Shadow Strike ->
Eviscerate ->
Shadow Strike ->
Backstab ->
Vanish ->
DFA /
Shadow Dance pre evis hit ->
Goremaw ->
Eviscerate ->
Shadow Strike ->
Shadow Strike ->
Eviscerate ->
Backstab ->
Backstab ->
Eviscerate From there it’s pretty much rinse and repeat, with small notes like making sure to have Shadow Dance ready for DFA and other high burst parts of the fight.
Shadow Blades, SoD and Vanish are almost always used on CD.
Multitarget:
As long as there’s 2 or more targets, Shuriken Storm is used instead of Shadow Strike / Backstab, as it increases damage by eviscerate (up to 50% more damage), and combo point generation heavily.
As goes for pretty much any rogue spec, it’s never worth using your CPs below 5(4) or 6(5) (Using
Deeper Stratagem Talent for Subtlety).
Besides both legendaries (
Wrists &
Shoulders), I am also in need of a
Convergence of Fates, which is still BiS, especially at higher ilvl.
With having written so much for subtlety I feel inclined to go into less detail with Assassination and Outlaw, though do feel free to ask if you’re interested in hearing some more in-depth explanations for those too.
Assassination:
Stat Priorities:
[li]Agility[/li]
[li]Mastery[/li]
[li]Versitility[/li]
[li]Crit[/li]
[li]Haste[/li]
My gear is exactly the same for Assassination as the gear I’m using for Subtlety, and am therefor again, heavily overburdened on Haste.
Also missing the 2 legendaries
Mantle of the Master Assassin (same as for Subtlety and Outlaw) and
Zoldyck Family Training Shackles.
Rotation for assassination is using a tight opener that needs to be executed correctly, then followed up by just maintaining Rupture (the more targets under the effect, the better, for Energy Gain) and Garrote, while finishing with Envenom as often as possible.
For single target you’re using Mutilate as your CP builder, and for 3+ targets you should be using FoK
Vanish should be used on CD,
Outlaw:
Stat Priorities:
[li]Agility[/li]
[li]Versitility[/li]
[li]Crit[/li]
[li]Mastery[/li]
[li]Haste[/li]
Again, the gear is the same as what I’m using for the other specs, and therefor has a terrible amount of haste. Outlaw is currently the build I am worst set up for, stat wise.
I am also missing both (out of 3 proper) legendaries for this spec, Shoulders -
Mantle of the Master Assassin and either Ring (
Insignia of Ravenholdt) or Wrists - (
Greenskin’s Waterlogged Wristcuffs).
I am not a big fan of Outlaw, as RNG is a big factor in how well you’ll perform as the fight goes on. This is mainly because of Roll the Bones, which can really change the output of DPS at certain times. Rotation is quite simple and is more or less a priority case:
Keep uptime of Roll the Bones at 100% using 5-6 CP;
Always keep it if you get a +2 roll, reroll if you get Grand Melee buff, and keep True Bearing buff. Besides that, use MfD and Adrenaline rush on CD.
As with all the specs, you want to try and not overcap on CP, so you should use a finisher on 5 CP, unless you’re running with Ghostly Strike and it’s running out.
As of 7.2.5, I rolled subtlety, which also happens to be my favourite spec to play. I am however, as mentioned, a sucker for going really in-depth with my characters, so I have no issue swapping between specs and builds for various fights.
Having only been at max level for about a month now, I am struggling with gearing up for all 3 specs, and even getting the right stats for my main spec. I am however, fully aware of what stats I'm looking for on my gear for each spec.
Item level for each spec (according to DejaCharacterStats, which might be 1-2 points higher than what armory says);
Subtlety - 905.37 - 54 traits (weapon 923)
Outlaw - 903.37 - 52 traits (weapon 907)
Assassination - 904.87 - 49 traits (weapon 919)
I plan on getting 52 traits in Assassination just incase, before going any further into Subtlety.
Alts:None of my alts are at max level, yet. I am leveling up a
Protection Warrior purely through dungeons, though.
Note - I have a
Priest on Twisting Nether that is 110, but played that for only a few days during the launch of Legion, and I am not planning on playing it for now. If I do, I will transfer it to Kazzak.
Professions:Currently got Herbalism and Enchanting, for a self-supply of mats for potions, flasks and enchants.
Raiding Experience:I have a hard time remembering my vanilla experience, since I was about 12-13 years old, and I was pretty much boosted by my cousins guild on Al’akir, so I will keep this out of the application.
All raid progress below is while they were current content.

Special achievements during my raiding time:
The Undying - Naxx 10 (having a grudge on a certain player that we missed out on The Immortal).
First Rogue on Bronzebeard with 9/9 gold challenge modes in MoP.
Previous Guilds:Vanilla:REALM - Al’akir
I was in my cousin’s danish guild, I literally can’t remember the name of it. Played rogue back then.
TBC: REALM - Bronzebeard
The Nameless - played
Holy Paladin raiding with them and playing more as a casual / social player.
WotLK: REALM - Bronzebeard
Erebus (name changed from
Night Slayers) - Joined while leveling, was in this guild up till ICC. Acted as an Officer / Raid leader since naxx -> GM at about halfway through Ulduar. Played
Protection Paladin for pretty much my entire duration there.
Echo - Joined in ICC, and was there till end of MoP. I started out as a
Protection Paladin, and rerolled
DPS Warrior for the entire duration of Cataclysm. As Cataclysm came out I became a raid leader, however, I was much better suited for the role of an officer, as I was a lot more into managing the guild, and our other raid leader was way better than I was at raid leading. Halfway through first Cata content, I became an officer, and quickly after I became the guild master, which lasted until my first break.
MOP:REALM - Bronzebeard & Kazzak
We needed a tank, so I rerolled
Brewmaster - aka. Ricepaper tank.
About a month or two into MoP we decided to change realm from Bronzebeard to Kazzak, since Bronzebeard had become more or less dead, and the guild was falling apart, with no chance of recruiting new raiders on Bronzebeard.
On Kazzak we managed to get a few more raiders into the guild, though still struggled during the first couple of contents. As I came back in ToT, I was asked to roll DPS if I wanted to raid, and went back on my rogue. We pulled our asses a bit more together. Sadly, with many people quitting playing / quitting the guild, we decided to disband the guild.
LEGION:REALM - Kazzak
Halcyon - As I started playing again recently, I got poached almost as soon as I logged in, by an old guildie from Echo. This guild is now more or less disbanded, with the leader quitting out of nowhere, resulting in a wave of guild quits. I came in here as a social with the purpose of becoming a raider as soon as I got geared.
Availability:I am currently available all weekdays after about 2-3pm (gmt+1), and able to go on all night if needed.
I prefer to keep my weekends clear, since I’m a partyholic. If really needed, though, I do not mind showing up in weekends.
Communication:Having primarily played with British people, I am very proficient in english, both vocally and in writing.
I have installed TS3, Discord, Mumble, and Ventrilo for the sake of needing all of them for my work. I am also fully able to both listen and talk (I am not shy).
Computer / Connection:My gaming system is decent, and I haven’t been below 60 FPS in any encounter so far.
Currently sitting on a 1gbit/1gbit connection, with a ping of 6-12ms on Kazzak.

The only problem I have experienced since returning, is that I quite often have ridiculous loading times (30 seconds+) even though I have WoW installed on my SSD. I am however, not the only person with this issue it seems, and it has no effect on performance when playing.
Addons/UI:Addons:
ElvUI (SLE) - Nice and clean UI
Details - Heard this was the new and improved Skada
AngryAssignments - Always useful incase you forget what you’re meant to do!
WeakAuras - Keeping track of CDs and uptimes on certain buffs
BigWigs - Boss Mods
RCLootCouncil (Will be replaced with EPGPLootMaster if accepted, if I remember that’s what you’re using) - I’ve previously used EPGPLootMaster with my old guild, Echo.
DejaCharacterStats - What have they done with viewing of stats? This has become a necessity!
http://i.imgur.com/N3K55rp.jpg - Just noticed there’s 2x FPS + MS counters at the middle bar. Left one has been replaced with coords.
Other Games:Currently I don’t play any other games, I am a big fan of single player RPG games such as Dishonored series, Far Cry series, Two Worlds II (Best RPG ever made), Might and Magic series (not heroes! Though it’s also good), Fallout Series.
I’ve also achieved Global Elite in CS:GO a few times, and played Dota at a pretty high level.
Why Iron Edge?I want to join Iron Edge, since pretty much all of my friends have quit playing, but I still have 2 friends playing, and they both happen to be in this guild,
Shimmar and
Vivi. I also feel like the amount of days you raid suits me perfectly, especially with the level of the guild, when it comes to your progression, which shows there’s a dedication and skill level of players, that I can relate to.
What can I offer Iron Edge?I am someone who goes the extra mile to make sure I do my part. I am dedicated, loyal, and will always show up prepared for whatever content is put in front of me.
I have played WoW for many years, and as I’ve also played most roles, and raid led throughout various expansions, I have a good grasp of how to encounter most issues that can occur when progressing.
Where did I hear about Iron Edge?I heard about you from
Shimmar, who whispered me about me needing a guild a few days after I came back. At this point I was already in Halcyon, though, and I don’t believe that guild hopping is ever a good way of building a reputation for yourself.
Last Words?As mentioned a few times in the application, I am somewhat undergeared. I’m in a huge need of some useful legendaries, as the ones I currently have are more or less just stat sticks.
I do have 2 set of both T19 and T20, which does help a fair amount, but sadly not enough compared to the ridiculous DPS gains by having those legendaries.
I hope you managed to get through this massive wall of text. I was told to be thorough!
