Beasty Replays
« on: July 29, 2010, 02:39:00 am »
Ok so me and narw played some games to try out the new maps and stuff. So beat Husky and HD to it, and watch my awesomeness in YOUR OWN starcraft! ;D

http://www.2shared.com/file/sLgI725U/Agria_Valley.html
Lost this one, was trying a full herass build (reapers - igniter hellions - cloaked banshee's) but because Narw didn't want me to go reapers, his eco was too good. many many roaches :(

Fun map, went for 5 racks here on single base

Loved this map, nice and long rush distances. THOR IS HIER!

The other games were censored due to inappropriate behaviour in chat by Narw.
download em at "Save file to your PC: click here"

ps: excuse my APM, I'm usually around 60 :D

Yeah, im usually not so shit... just  2 days of single player campaign as terran + seeing those maps  for first time (on that map where i accidently ran into Rash Thors i was really confused :D ) did the job.

I gave you Guild Member status btw, Therash -- I think you win the prize for lasting the longest time without asking for access...
Now I run a tech website.

I asked for it though, a long time ago. And since you only gave me access to this level, I thought it was "working as intented"  ;D

Ah, maybe -- maybe back before you went inactive, after all the Coldshy stuff...

All fixed, anyway!

Therash - Terran
vs
Lundiz - Protoss
map: Steppes of War

This was actually quite a high level game (it had spectators and stuff). I played vs a member from a clan called Warrior Nation. I like to believe I won because of late-game economic herassement and managing to keep map control the entire game (because my APM was alot lower than his :P)

APM is like gear score.  Even if you have a high one, you might be wearing cloth for tanking...

This is true, but it is still an indication to see how much someone can handle at the same time, I had this conversation with a rl friend after the game, who said I had way too much Gas, and that I should have spent it on ravens.

That would have meant that when I attacked I needed to:
 - Use stimpack for marines/marauders
 - Siege and unsiege the Siege Tanks
 - place Point Defense Drones with my Raven and choose the location aswell

Now if I was TLO or a player of that level I could handle this easily, but with my current APM I can't keep up with all these things. And then I wouldn't fully utilize all my units. I'd rather save the resources for a possible later attack or techswitch if mine would have failed.

Don't mistake me, I am not saying high APM is a bad thing.  I'm just saying it's not the be all and end all of stats :P

It's mostly useful when it's meaningful APM

but yeah, it's a decent indicator. It's mostly useful for yourself, not something to brag about, but rather as a check-tool of what you could be doing better.
Trolls are awesome!

Well nice play of yours there, i dont really play protoss but from what i saw your oppenent mistake was investing in those immortals? Also lack of that sentrie's barrier which could greatly help him vs that infantry ball of yours i guess.

And yes i still think terran is faceroll :P
