B Team Application - Mage
« on: June 11, 2009, 09:30:29 am »
Personal Information
My name is Sebastion, which I'm told is a very popular name in this guild! I'm from the UK, 20 years old and go to university. I'm on summer holidays until mid-September and currently single (bah!) so have plenty of free time on my hands.

Character Information
Name: Tempeste - My (steadily improving) gear
Class: Mage
Level: One of the solutions to x2 -77x -240 = 0
Primary talent specialization: Arcane
Secondary talent specialization: Frostfire
Professions: Herbalism/Alchemy

Raiding
At the moment, I'm free pretty much all the time apart from Wednesday evenings.

Gaming and World of Warcraft History
My introduction to gaming started when I was two years old on a Sega Megadrive. I never really tried online gaming until Half-Life 2 Deathmatch. Ahh, magnum headshots... Anyway, I watched a friend playing World of Warcraft and had a go. It was quite fun, so I bought the game. I've been playing since December 2005 with a break of about 6 months when I deleted all my characters as it was really taking over my real life way too much.

After the introduction of achievements, I decided to return, vowing never to let World of Warcraft rule my life again! Ok, maybe a little bit... A friend played on Dunemaul so I started up here again with a blood elf mage. I used to play a gnome mage (a shameful fact) and clocked up a respectable amount of played time on him so I know the class relatively well.

Raiding experience:

Classic WoW: MC/ZG/AQ20/Onyxia
TBC: MH/TK/Gruul/Kara/SSC/ZA/first 3 bosses in BT before nerf
WotLK: OS10/25, Naxx 10/25, VoA10/25, first boss in Ulduar (feel free to lol)

Guild History
Not much considering the recent creation of this character. I was in a guild called Iron Warriors while I levelled that wasn't really going anywhere and I left after I logged in one day to find the GM had randomly migrated. I then joined Mortality after I did some instances with the GM's alt while I was still levelling. Since being 80 most of my raiding has been done in PUGs as there's not much of a reliable raiding system in my current guild (though it seems to be changing).

Why do you want to join Iron Edge?
I'd never really considered it until I was doing VoA25 with Vorte's mage alt who seemed to like my focus magic buff, my attitude, my focus magic buff and also my dps considering my undeniably sucky gear... and my focus magic buff. I've naturally heard of the guild, what with it being the top raiding guild on Dunemaul and can't deny that I'd like a slice of the Iron Edge cake.

What can I offer to Iron Edge?
Stress-free DPS; free food and water; a seasoned WoW veteran; weird jokes that most people probably won't get but keep me amused... and a focus magic buff/improved scorch on top. What more could you ask for?

Last Words?
"I think that Tempeste is Iron Edge material" - spoken by your sub-conscious.

Nice application! Sebastians are always good.

But honestly I don't think your gear is up to the b-raid standards.

Though that's up to the officers of the b-raid, goodluck!

He did very well given his gear, and with a couple upgrades from whatever pugs he does this week before monday I hope he can be ulduar ready. He needs to do 500 or so more dps to be useful in ulduar. *fingers crossed in those pugs*

I liek niec maeg.

gear does not have to make a good player... it is always a good bonus, but brains>gear anyday,
and since our mages are such slackers then gief more mages and retire the slackers!!!!

only downside is that you are british and even worse... SEBASTIAN!!!!!  how cruel can it get  ???

Thanks for the application -- it's good!

As stated, your gear isn't amazing, but if the group needs a mage... that shouldn't be a problem :)

Another Sebastian is always good, but you are spelt wrong...
Now I run a tech website.

he is also a mage.. not a priest.

As for the spelling of my name, blame my mum. It's not necessarily wrong, just... different. Consider it a way to differentiate between the other Sebastians. In a way it's advantageous. I want to take this opportunity to state that I am not remotely french, in case any suspicions of being so would hinder my application.

Thanks for the application, it was pretty good! :)

However, as has been mentioned, your gear is a bit sub-par. Is it possible to put applicants on "hold" until they've gotten themselves Ulduar-ready? :P Or do we just consider you as if you had the gear, and then squeeze you into some naxx pugs / ulduar 10s?

Aaaanyway, It'll be discussed further when I get online at home. I'll have to once again ask an applicant to stay tuned!

Can't see a problem with those times. I'll be there. Would be rather silly of me to pass up the opportunity!
