Hype machine for this game doesn't appear to be rolling somehow... weird considering how it's lookin' pretty sharp

the first guild wars was quite a let down though.

Fuck you. There's nothing wrong with it. it's just awfully complex for a game of it's type. especially the pvp.

thats the douche I remember
I've played the game on and off for 73 months...There's really not much wrong with it. It has (as times) repetative issues. But that's the same for all games.

Recently aquired armor I've spent 4 years farming.

I played GW for ages. It is a fun game, but you get to a point where you have done everything. I too farmed for months to get Obsidian armor, had a Crystaline Sword and Obsidian Edge amoung many other rare skins. Just lost interest in it over time. Hopefully GW2 will release more content as time goes on so you not stuck with the same stale content over X years

i played GW for ages also.. but i dunno it got boring really fast =s it lacked alot of things IMO but i'd still like to keep an open mind and try GW2 i watched TB trying it and it did look like it had some awesome improvements! :)

I did give GW a little go. It seemed like it'd be fun to play with buddies, but I felt one of the main problems for me with the game was the interface feeling a little tricky to just use for basic stuff, and for socialising too.

if it is anything like gw1, yr name needs to be at least 2 words. So i will most likely be The Dirty Roman (my elementalist from gw1)

Title: Re: Guild Wars 2

Sooo... does gw2 live up to the hype?

In my opinion yes, but I'm a fanboy so take everything I'm about to say with a pinch of salt.

It was very good. The levelling is like an area wide thing. You go to a certain part of the map and there you meet a scout. He will tell you things to do in this area and you will get a little heart icon on your mini map. When you go there you can do certain tasks for example.

In norn area - The first area you get to after the tutorial you can either Kill some enemies (Lets say 10) or run around picking up eggs putting them into the nests.

There's also a chance that you get, for lack of a better name "Public quests" or as GW2 calls them, Events. In the area I just mentioned you can answer riddles about general knowledge and get the progress bar up. You are given Karma (Think of it as Badges) XP and Money.

Some events aren't as straightforward as this. Others again involve killing mass amounts of enemies very fast in a small time period or stopping them repairing a tower. A good example of a world changing event is as follows.

In the charr area there is a charr armory that has been abandoned. The flame legion (Evil charr!) are moving in to take it away from the Legions (Ash, Blood, Iron) If you don't defend it they take this obejctive and change the zone, quite drasticly. They have a foothold deeper into the zone and these more powerful enemies move forward, now backed up by mortars and turrets and begin assaulting the starting area.

Yes, that's right. The game literally pits you against level 5-6's when you step out of the tutorial zone (That's if nobody defends it)

Another example would be the human area. I didn't experince this but grish did. In the human area there is a water resoviour (However you spell that) that is under attack by centaurs. They plan to poison the water so bassicly, as the dashing young hero you must kill them before they can. If you fail people die and the centaur pressence is "stronger" in the region. But not the extent of the charr.

There's so much in this game I don't even know where to begin. But events and event levelling really beats the "fetch 10 boar brains"

they were bandits btw not centaurs anyway i got in to that part of the zone when the event failed before i could do anything as it turns out the water got poisoned and you had to make an antidote, if you were in a different part of the zone you hear npc's next to some wells talk about them bieng sick and thinking it has something to do with the water supply

anyway i say the game is overhyped a bit thats not to say its not good (it is very very good imo) but you know things go people get excited and shit happens

what this beta weekend was not good for however for me that is is that i had a few proffesions i wanted to play and i was hoping that this beta would give my an idea what i wanted to play come release... well as it turns out that i still cant fucking make up my own mind because the proffesions i wanted to play were all fun to play making the decision not any easier

i tried playing the elementalist engineer thief and mesmer

Elementalist: to be honest i wanted to try the least but they turn out to be very fun to play and the switching between the elements was fun having like 20 different spells (not counting the utility spells) means you have tons of choices of how you want to deal with shit

Engineer: Probably the least fun class out of the 4 i played thats not to say i didnt have fun playing just... less fun compared to the other 3 classes
might have something to do with not having a flamethrower just yet

Mesmer: I played this class the least i have to admit, They were a bit confusing at first so i didnt play them much from what little i played with them i can say that you can be a real annoyance in pvp or just be a dick with your illusions and phantasm

Thief: Well to be honest i thought they were oke untill i got to level 5 when you get your first utility skill (you can choose what to get btw if you have enough points for it) i took shadowstep which basicly lets you jump to a point on the ground of your choosing and then it turns in to a a return button where you just jump back and at level you get weapon switching which lets you switch to a different set of weapons, so the 2 sets i went with was pistol/dagger and dagger/pistol
oh what i forgot to mention was that depending on what weapons you have equiped your third skill will be different what i mean by that is pisto/dagger has a different third skill than dagger/pistol, anyway you get a skill where you shoot and than shadowstep to the target to stab it and the other set gets you a skill where you stab and shadowstep backwards to shoot them
anyway i had probably the most fun playing the thief

that bieng said the beta was poorly optimized and some of the ground texture were very very low rez but from what i heard Arenanet knows about this and are fixxing this and about the textures they didnt put in the hirez textures in the downloader yet

oh yeah they didnt have the Sylvari and Asura starting area yet which made me kinda sad because i realy wanted to play a Saladtosser
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: Douchebag on April 30, 2012, 05:55:09 pm
Yes I agree with Grishnag it is overhyped. It's not the godfather of MMO's. It's still very very good. The differences between the classes is HUGE. I'm talking HUGE No one class is ANYWHERE near the same as the other.

Warrior is 10x different from the Guardian. His skills his armor everything. While they do use the same weapons the different abillties and variation in them is just jawdropping. I played all weekend and I couldn't make enough characters to try them all.

Far Shiverpeaks, it was a really good server last beta event, and it seems like many big communities are looking to settle there from what I found on forums last time.

Istan/Vabbi/Kourna/Gandara are also welcome choices.

are ring of fire and Far Shiverpeaks high pop servers?

http://titanpad.com/ep/pad/view/4SyT2aGiZB/latest a current list on which server different communities are picking as their server.

Whiteside Ridge and Far Shiverpeaks really stand out (With Gandora coming second) from the rest, they will probably be the bigger servers with the largest communities.

Personally I have my money on Far Shiverpeaks because of the large amount of scandinavian communities settling there (Where there are scandinavians are the #1 PvP) but that might not be as interesting for the UK fellas (generally anyone outside Scandinavia I guess), but it's not to say if it will turn into a "DKDKDKDK?!?!?" shit fest like some servers in WoW.

Whiteside Ridge have some of the larger communities like Reddit and that jazz settling in here, might be really good as well with a huge community so there won't be a dead world, but I don't have much to say for this one.

Gandora is sort of the same as Whiteside Ridge (The backup plan so to speak for the english communities)

Far Shiverpeaks have way more settlers than any other server, so getting in could cause a problem as well, but we'll see, we still have a long way to go release anyway.
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: Grishnag on June 08, 2012, 04:23:37 pm

dont really want to go to a server that has either /v/ or reddit on it

Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: Kawe / Dave on June 11, 2012, 12:20:26 pm
those rocket boots are so fun. Nothing like catching up to an enemy with them in the least suave manner possible, falling on your ass and screaming

its rather useless skill. im running healing tower/rocket tower/ elixir B/ and those rocket boots that shoot u to china or stun someone in meele range
its actualy good in PvE though ill give you that i wont be using in PvP

as for the healing turret doing some stuff solo like just running around killing shit or escort events the thing isnt that usefull because of the long ass cooldown again in pvp specially WvW its really good

rocketboots are allways fun

elixir B is the one that gives you fury extra damage (dunno what the buff is called) and swiftness right? if so i have been using that one
i also unlocked elixir C which removes all conditions from you and gives you random buffs in return wich is a purely pvp skill it seems to me and i havent really used that skill yet in pvp

rocket turret is boss though no denying that

Maybe its just because you disabled stuff like lighting and shadows.

Let's re-visit what server we should go onto at launch.

I'm thinking Medium/high

Roleplaying servers have best communitys by far, and I think that's what you are going to want in this game more then anything.

if you can put up with roleplayers, it's not forced on you atleast.

I've been reading up on the lore and it seems done well enough, there's a lot of history and cool things to explore and experience.

I will almost certainly at least buy the game.

First game is worth a play if you want some more lore.

In terms of story (Your experince may differ)

Prophecies(1st one they did)>Nightfall(3rd)>Factions(2nd)>Eye of the north(4th) Although eye of the north is more like a prologue for Guild wars 2

Figured I'd post some videos of each races music main music when you are at a climax point in the story mode or doing a zone wide event (In the last case I heard the Charr music playing when we we're fighting the Shatterer. I think they also play during the zones climax aswell. Examples would be Shadow Behemoth, Ascalon ghosts and...I actually have no idea what the Norn one is.

Guildwars 2 is set 200 years after Eye of the North if I'm not mistaken. There are 2 books which cover the large gap. First book is Ghosts of Ascalon and the 2nd is Edge of Destiny. I am currently reading the first one and gives a lot of insight into the game.

If it's RP then petrified forest is the one you want, it would seem. My line of thinking is that GW2's similarities to Warhammer online, along with the way WvWvW is, point very strongly to "get on as high populated server as you can".

Alright so I just found out something pretty god damn amazing.

You can edit/put sound into the actual files of the game and the game will play them on que.

So far there is 8 files that the game will play music from there are:

Ambient, Battle, underwater, City, crafting, Boss battle, Night time, Main menu.

For more info, here's a picture explaining exactly how to do it

TLDR: You can make the game play your music in the settings you want.

Yeah, Riverside was a bad choice, but when I picked it, I didn't know it was going to turn into a German server. I played with a lot of Scandinavians in GW1 and they are nice people (anything is better than turks).

Personally, I would be looking at Desolation.

The last beta weekend, my 1st, is over and I have mixed feeling about GW2.

The graphics are pretty nice and I like the way questing/events work. The lore and personal stories are also fairly well done.

I just didn't like feel of how class the worked. The concepts behind the skills and weapons affecting skill is really good, but the complete package of basic combat skills just felt off in most cases or at least the balance between how powerful or weak certain wpn combo's are. Thief and Ranger being the worst one of which was the classes I initially planned to play on release. Elementalist and Warrior was oke depending on which wpn combo you used. Engineer ended up being the class I enjoyed playing the most despite it being the class (just above Necromancer) I was least likely to play. I didn't get around to playing Necromancer, never like that kind of class in any game, Guardian, and Mesmer.

Yeah I know, but those are extra spells that add flavour to the basics. No matter how good some of the sugarcoating is the basics still leave me dissatisfied somewhat. I had expect a lot more. This is the MMO beta where the way a class plays really disappoints me, usually it's the questing and/or gfx that put me off. With GW2 it is the complete a opposite.
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: safire on July 23, 2012, 07:48:25 pm
I quite liked it.. Too bad i only got the chance to play it this weekend, and I really didn't get into the classes much.. I mostly got stuck on the making of a char :D I played human (because it was the most fun to make) and asura, thought they were pretty cool. Tried sylvari as well, their story was the most interesting one imo :P
I played Ranger which i thought was the best, as well as elementalist. Seemed the most interesting to me.. Tried Necromancer too, it was ok :P The others like.. Theif didn't really seem interesting to me, never really been a melee type of person, so :P
The questing and stories was good though. I will probably start playing this game at some point when it's out :)

Yeah I know, but those are extra spells that add flavour to the basics.
but thats just wrong (im going to engineers as a example because i played them the most) if you didnt have turrets or tool kits you just woundt be an engineer
Quote
No matter how good some of the sugarcoating is the basics still leave me dissatisfied somewhat.
the engineer lacks alot of weapon skills if thats what you mean (i dont really know what you mean) they only have pistol/pistol pistol/shield and rifle.
if the engineer didnt have those tool kits and stuff it would be a rather boring with just 3 different weapons to use
or i might have completely misunderstood you and you meant that classes arent like those in WoW with class roles and stuff

did you use the FLAMMENWERFER? i like the FLAMMENWERFER because it WERFS FLAMMEN
the bwe closing event was quiet fun. it wa a hunger games style pvp battle between teams on each server if u missed it

i hate the fact that have missed all the events in betas because i had to work the next day

Grish, you are defending the one class I actually thought felt smooth in it's play. I had turrets and they are good/fun, but they aren't the main part of how you actively need to play. Just goes to prove my point I guess.

Just because my subjective perception of the game aren't agreement  with your subjective perception doesn't make my arguments weak  ;) I have yet to see any 'strong' counter arguments.

I got level 21 on eng/thief and 7-9 on most of the others.

Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: Douchebag on July 24, 2012, 12:28:01 pm
That's REALLY high for a beta weekend. from the sounds of things you rushed past everything, I played pretty much non-stop all weekend and I got to level 16 on one character.

it seems like you focused to much on the mechanics of the game instead of the enviorment, Immersion, the events, the hidden puzzles the vistas.

Hell of a lot of stuff to do in that game, so managing to get 2 characters past level 20 on 1 weekend is ridiculous. Did you do the Vistas? Did you complete every zone? Did you read the quests? Do your personal story? try out all the races? Do the hidden jumping puzzles? Do Shadow Behemoth? Any PVP? Each weapon in PVP has it's own gimmick and is quite a big difference. There's also WvWvW If you didn't try this then I'd really say you are missing out.
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: Gaeios(Graxlos) on July 24, 2012, 12:34:13 pm
I think Yoicas reasoning is fine, the problem is though, that its impossible to evaluate such a game based on the early levels.

Like in SWTOR early reviews were great, although the game didnt have any endgame content.

I wouldnt like to review WoW based on starter edition during cataclysm, you get no idea how the real game is.

All you can get from beta weekends like this is a feeling of the game and my first feelings were not very positive.
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: Douchebag on July 24, 2012, 01:18:54 pm
By the way Yoica, you probs didn't like Thief because they decided to change over half of the thief animations/skills/damage and test it for this BWE. I loved my thief in BWE1/2 but in 3 I felt like wet soggy noodle
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: Yoica on July 24, 2012, 01:22:25 pm
Douche, did you even bother to read what initially wrote? :-\

The last beta weekend, my 1st, is over and I have mixed feeling about GW2.

The graphics are pretty nice and I like the way questing/events work. The lore and personal stories are also fairly well done.

<snip> my QQ about unpolished class play <snip>

So your last is complete useless and pointless. I enjoyed everything BUT the combat for most classes which generally feel awkward. So I started to rush to higher level to if it would get better, because I knew I would like the content anyway. The way combat skills work doesn't feel as natural/smooth when compared to other MMO's I've played. The only class where it felt good was the engineer, elementalist and warrior were decent enough, Ranger was mediocre and thief was just plain awful.

And I think I have enough background in MMO's (beta, release and/or trial WoW, Tera, Aion, Rift, SWTOR, GW1) to get a fairly good (note, not perfect) feel for how the combat works.

Anyway the content is good enough to warrent a leisurely playthrough. Currently the combat is bad enough for me to not play GW2 too seriously.

GW is all about pvp and its EPIC!
sooo much fun and balanced.
you can literaly outplay anyone if you play your class right.
this weekend all i did was pvp got to rank 15ish. but then i stoped, since i wana keep some goodness for the release
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: Vix on July 24, 2012, 04:00:13 pm
Could you be a bit more specific when you say the pvp is epic? From what I read here, it sounds as the control of the characters are clunky, which generally is what made pvp unattractive in wow's competitors over the years.
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: Yoica on July 24, 2012, 05:43:03 pm
I completely disagree with the PvP being balanced atm. There is the faceroll warrior and need to execute near perfect thief and everything inbetween.
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: Douchebag on July 24, 2012, 08:05:56 pm
Um...If you are reffering to Warrior greatsword, getting killed by that means you are BAD.

Every class has a counter to it, the warrior is immobile and if you can't ntoice you are getting killed by it then you just plain suck. Warriors are good but not as OP as everyone makes them out to be.

As you just not enjoying the combat then I know another reason for that. In this BWE they tuned the combat down (damage, skills etc) for NPCS. Before you had Dodge/Avoid/Roll/Team up for more powerful things, This BWE you could faceroll through it all.

They did this to test feedback and it's not been posisitve so I'm assuming they will change it.

Although they did also say that the content gets harder at higher levels. But I'm not going to Argue to make you stay Yoica, it's a once buy game no sub fees etc. There's no pressure to play it considering it's a casual MMO anyway. It's a sadness that you don't like the combat as I feel much more involed with it then i have in any other MMo that I've played my only gripe is the 1 attack that does 3 combos.

Also a screenshot I found on 4chan that looks cool

i didnt see the actual dmg beeing turned down at all.
Eles still 2 shot people before they even know they there.

the wow equivalent of bgs just feel more balanced than in wow, aswell as the class balance.
theres no scenario where 1 class will TOTALY RAPE another class.
yes a well played thief will buttrape u before u can say OMFG. but with 2 good evasion rolls his burst is out and u can kite them to death.

also 1 thing i really liked was the server system they have in place. its like playing FPS games where u pick a server and stick with it. you play with the same people over and over unless one leaves/ rejoins. also the biggest point about pvp that makes me like this game is the fact that wat you start out with in the beginning is the same lvl of dmg u have at max rank. not like wow, where u farm up arena gear and rape someone who doesnt have any gear.
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2

Yes Yoica, I was/am wanting to go to Desolation because it seems to have a lot of UK people. Between us Africans, we haven't actually spoken about servers etc. During the headstart and release I am relocating to a different city so I will just land up joining whatever server the others are on when my net gets connected (8mb booya!).

Have you guys made a guild during the beta? I'm just asking because you can upgrade stuff based on what players do that are in the guild and stuff so naturally its better to have more people in 1 guild ... Besides you can get instance groups easier that way too

And having it focus on pvp isn't a bad thing since the endgame content is mostly pvp anyway

We did create a guild for the beta events and will be doing it for release too. IE people are more than welcome to join us.

If the game release is the same as the beta events for us (i.e. starting on american time zones) the headstart for us would start 7 am or something i hope its not like that but incase it is i think we should atleast look for a backup server if Desolation is full

I've pre-ordered the game and am looking forward to playing it a lot. You guys decided what server you're going to play on? Also I've heard the servers could be up as soon as 5AM UK time.
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: Grishnag on August 18, 2012, 08:27:29 pm
9 AM CEST is when the servers start but they could be up 3 hours before that (i love this vague shit) anyway i think we decided on Desolation

Again though i would like to point out that its a full population server and with it starting at 9 am (or 6 am) not everyone might get on because not everyone will be awake at that point so im asking if anyone has a back up server to go to?

also have you South africans decided? personally i find having more people in a guild better than having 2 small guilds but whatever
Title: Re: Guild Wars 2
Post by: footmunch on August 19, 2012, 12:09:18 pm
i refuse to play on a server thats gona end up full and then you que to get on. not gona happen.
currently since desolation is the only concrete UK server its overcrowded as fuck as it is alrdy. compared to all other servers that are around there i dont think well be going to desolation.

just look at the link someone posted previously. desolation is the only server that has over 120 guilds confirmed...

next biggest is 93ish for EU.

having said that it could all change so well see. they said migration is free untill everything is settled in

With GW, you dont queue. It will put you in a separate 'district' until the main one has space. That was the case with GW1.

Post by: Kawe / Dave on August 19, 2012, 02:48:24 pm
Look at every other not-wow mmo release in... forever? You do want to be on as full a server as possible, because not a single server is going to maintain the population numbers they see at release past a month. You especially want as busy as possible a server for as long as possible in a game like GW2 where the more sparse an area is, the less fun you have - it's not much use having "look instant entry to server woo" when you then have no one to play with.

ye u want a high pop server not a full server... atm everyone in EU wants to go to desolation. no mather who you talk to they are going to desolation. the server will be at capacity and half the people will bitch and moan cuz they left behind. Its gona happen and im gona be there to say: "i told you so" and lol :D

Gandara looks like a good option. Slightly fewer guilds and alliances registered there but still competitive in comparison to Desolation. It's also an English speaking server or UK server or whatever. :)

I don't think you appreciate the degree and speed that the servers will empty with. Additionally,

With GW, you dont queue. It will put you in a separate 'district' until the main one has space. That was the case with GW1.

since footmunch fails to supply a server that he thinks is better i would say we should stick with desolation for now

in any case we have free character transfers for a while so if a lot of us cant get on desolation we can allways move to another high/full pop server were we all can join

i also have a few real life friends who want to join in and i told them that its desolation for now

Good game so far.  ;D Really enjoying it, I have to say the leveling is a lot more fun than other MMO's have been for me. And they've implemented a lot of stuff that makes you think, wow that makes sense why don't other MMO's do that? Desolation is the server we're on, really good PvP realm by the looks of things and high population. Poke Kawe for an invite. Here's some sexy screenshots.

If you are stuck on what race to choose I'll give you a little lore so you can pick a little easier.

Warning: Giant wall of text. if you want 1 race then read that race.

Human: Humans are originally from another planet. The (original) six gods (Balthazar, Dwayna - Leader of the gods, Lyssa, Melandru, Grenth and Abbadon) put the humans onto Tyria. They originated from Orr to begin with and spilt into 3 independent(?) countrys.

A time before the Guild wars happened the god Abbadon became insane and began to take all the water out of the Crystal desert, the other 5 gods imprisoned him in the Realm of torment, anyway back to the guild wars.

You had

Ascalon
Kryta
Orr

In the following years as what would become to known as "The Guild Wars" the 3 kingdoms fought each other for retarded reasons of DERP LAND DERP KILL. They only stopped fighting when the Charr launched a massive 3 pronged attack.

The Krytans defeated the Charr right out
The Ascalonians built a gigantic wall around the entire kingdom, and then got blown the shit up
Orr got blown the shit up.

Because Orr was the first kingdom of the Humans they had many powerful artifacts to the gods. In the original game a single person began to read one of the forbidden texts and the entire city was exploded in a gigantic fireball, rather then let the Charr (The natives of the world!) set foot on "Holy ground"

So Orr sank to the bottom of the ocean taking a giant landmass with it.

The Ascalonians had something called the "Searing" happen. Bassicly the Charr built a device powered by the "Titans" that rained giant fireballs and death from the sky, It decimated the wall and all of ascalon.

Fastforward 5 years you had the realm of Cantha appear south of the world, young heroes traveled there to solve the problem of Shiro Tacaghi. it was pretty boring.

And you also had Elona, land of the golden sun. Elona had a huge problem in the years before were a great undead lord called Palwala Joko raised up an army to defeat the forces of Elona (Vabbi, Kourna and the Sunspears) a great commander rose from Kourna called Turia Ossa who struck down this undead lord and imprionsed him.

after some years the lord Abbadon began to push his realm of torment into the real world. Heroes were forced to travel north and fight back this evil by going into the Realm of torment itself. There they had to fight a GOD face on and kill him. It was here that the slut Koromir who did NOTHING all game just walked the fuck in and took all his power and became the Godess of truth. Thus, five gods were once again Six.

Fastforwad 7 years, You had eye of the north. There you met people who went north into Charr lands to kill the charr outright, and did so sucsessfully. They were eventually called back and made the fortress "Ebonhawke" in Charr territory that still stands in GW2.

Fastforwad again some 20-30 years later, the mad crazy bat shit insane King Adelbern knew he could no longer win against the Charr and made his sword (Foefire) blow up most of ascalon city, turning every human into vengeful ghosts.

Now we fastforward for the last time, 250 years into the future. With the Orr and Ascalonians now dead all that reamins of the Humans is Kryta. When the great sundering happened (Dragons)the undead dragon Zhaitan made Orr rise from the bottom of the ocean, causing massive tidal waves flooding much of the ring of fire, the battle isles and all of Lions arch, Kryta's capital also, the dragon cut off ties to Cantha via it's undead legion of boats and pirates.

Human were forced to retreat north and found Divinity's reach in the lands of Shaemoor.

Human gameplay is: About "Justice", honor and the six gods

Norn: Originally from the far shiverpeaks of the north the Norn are quite literally, giant humans.

They revere the spirits of the wilds as the gods.

The 4 major spirits are:
Bear
Wolf
Raven
Snow Lepoard(?)

As the great sundering happened the mighty ice dragon Jormag arrose from the icy mountains in the north. The Norn fought very bravely against Jormag and are to date, the only race that has physically harmed a dragon by removing one of it's teeth.(It's about 5x the size of norn at max height)

As the dragons onslaught grew worse and worse the Spirits devised a plan. The lesser spirits - Owl, Wolverine, Ox and Eagle stayed behind to fight Jormag while the Norn retreated south. In this battle Owl was out right killed by Jormag and the other 3 are currently unknown as there has not been a disciple powerful enough to communicate with any of these spirits in years.

After the Norn arived south they founded Hoelbrak and put the Dragons tooth on display in the main hall.

Norn gameplay is cenetred around. Hunting, pure strength, ale!, Brawls and the Spirits

Asura: In the original game Asura were underground midgets that thought they were better then everyone. It hasn't changed!

Asuran belive in something called "The Eternal alchemy" were everything has a point and a purpose to something greater. They live to find out the mystery of The eternal alchemy.

During the period of the first game the Asura lived very close to something called "The Central transfer chamber" were a great deal of a energy poured out from a statue. Eventually something called "The Great destroyer" rose up out of the ground and began making an army rightly called "The Destroyers" who dedicated they're time to fucking everyones shit up. They pushed the Asura out of the tunnels they had all built underground and topside.

Eventually, the Dwarves stepped in preaching some batshit insane prophecy about how the Great dwarf had once destroyed this person and it was the dwarves destiny to turn into stone (Literally) and chase the destroyers into the depths of the world. Few dwarves stayed behind and all of the ones that went chased the destroyed into the Central transfer chamber to kill the Great destroyer (With the help of the Asura and humans, of course).

After the battle was finished the Camera said the greatest threat Tyria had ever faced was over. But more is to come.

And then the camera panned up. The Central transfer chamber had a giant fucking statue of a dragon in it. But guess what LOL IT WAS A DRAGON XD TWIST!!!!!!

Fastforward 250 years the Asura now make Rata sum, a giant rubix cube that floats into the home for them.

If you want to play Asura here's what to expect: Cockiness of the highest form, Elitisim, the best animations in the game, hilarious dialogue and TECHNOLOGY

Sylvari: Plant people that came from this Centaurs seed or some shit. They glow in the dark and are pretty gay.

Sylvari - You are a flower that glows in the dark. You are also gay as the Sylvari have sex with everyone/thing - Not joking. (I don't know enough about them to write anything.)

Charr: Charr have a very complicated history. They were once the dominate race on Tyria and wish to reclaim the land the Humans took from them.

The Charr fought against all 3 human countrys and eventually, Ascalon was the home they took back.

In the original game the charr were pure evil. They were lead by the Flame Legion who are bassicly Titan worshipping douchebags who want to enslave everyone and everything with the power of the Titans. At the climax of the eye of the north the Charr rose up against the Flame legion and culled many of the leaders and outcast the rest. The charr were no longer under the chains of opression.

In guild wars 2 - Easily the race that has undergone the biggest change since number 1. They took over all of Ascalon and built a gigantic city made out of metal and whatever else they could find. They are a very "Steampunk" civilization and are really quite cool race to play.

You have 3 "Legions" to choose from
Ash (Sneaky)
Blood (Warrior headline combat)
Iron (Engineering)

They currently all have the very unique story line and are very cool to play. They are currently at the forefront of taking Tyria into the industrial age and have many ressemblences to romans.

Females are also avaliable to play as Charr as they opression against females (Bassicly, they all got put into camps and were used as baby makers) ended and are now playable. They all stand on theyre hind legs and run on all fours

To sum up the Charr: Only the strongest survive, Hate worshipping gods, hate the Flame legion, love Engineering and war, are beastly in appearnce and run on all fours.

I'll most likely add to this list as and when I can be bothered. Sorry for the wall of text and yes I'm aware there is a big gap of knowledge from where

Humans got put onto earth.
Founded Orr
Split off

----
How did humans get to Elona/Cantha
