To straighten things out with raids

Last Wednesday some things went wrong with the group for Karazhan. There was a plan with making a fourth group, but instead those four were combined into two group which got into quite a mess. In this post i want to straighten stuff out and i need some help on making groups and dates of raiding. Maybe we need to make some subscription for a group every week or something. Just come up with some new idea's. Hope this post can make some things clear..... organize a bit

I definitely think we need something more... organised with these groups.  Wednesday was a nightmare.

The main problem that I see is various raiding times. Some could say its not an issue but some ppl just cant fit some times into their schedule... eg. saturday evening was never IE raiding time cause tons of ppl go out then. Other thing is attendance for Karazhan raids, lots of guys show up for every second or even third raid and expect a spot just like they didnt sit out 1 or 2 times.

I guess raid leaders have to announce exact raiding times for their grps so ppl can sign for early or late raids or whatever time table fits them.

Mabye some sort of post detailing exactly when each group is running and who is leading, etc.  Also a list of the players availalbe and what times they are available... People can then post when they get attuned with they're availability and stuff.  It should be pretty easy to get even groups then.

As we read I realised my grp is in Karazhan atm, without any announcement in guild message of the day. I was online for the whole time, didnt get invite or anything... Plain awesomeness.

Crazy's group goes pretty much every day.  Only don't go if they don't have enough online.  They were complaining that you weren't online and had to take somebody else...  What character were u on?

I did look for your name smor, but you were on and off Elmer a bit. Then I asked on TS if you were coming, and Cwave said you couldn't attend as you were working at 22:00. I think you told him earlier in the night... Cwave doesn't make up stuff normally

Anyway, Kouchu, we're talking about it now on the officer forum. Will be solved for next Wednesday.

I said I can stay till 22:00. As much as I understood when we talked this grp was ment to raid in old IE schedule and we talked about it in that manner. As much as I understood Dell is leader of grp I was in this week so I didnt take chat with Cwave in that manner, he only asked if I am available tonight. Anyway, I was on till 22:00, noone said anything about raid...

If u announced raid for friday evening I would be more than happy to find replacement for my self, but being online and not knowing that u are going there is just... no word to explain.

Here is a suggestion I have used for quite a few years. ( requires everyone on Irc though)

Raid channel ex: #Iron-edgeKharazhan:

Topic: "kharazan: Monday12/3/07 @ 17:00-22:00 /delling/Cwave/blabla//x/x/x/x/x And members can put themself on list. That way it's impossible to feel left out.

Also since you need special classes to make it work:

Topic: Topic: "kharazan: Monday12/3/07 @ 17:00-22:00 ||shamans4 x/x/x/x/ rogues4/x/x/x/x mages4/x/x/x/x Etc.

These are juste xaxmples.

It works. However just a suggestion if you have not allready found a better way. It also makes members actually join IRC which is a brilliant program for guilds once its on autoconnect.

Im sure you mean well, and this should also be in guild only, but giving pointers to a raid guild thats been running for 2 years while you yourself are not yet trialing with them... is ...erhmm . different?
