My Connection.

Ok. As everyone knows i have a wireless connection , it DCs whenever sumone picks up
the phone to call and is the bane of my exisence. HOWEVER. the past 5 week it has
been totally unplayable. 30 min DCs. Lag spikes of 2500 averege  headed up to 5500 ms
I have not touched the Settings on the PC or moved the modem/Router (i have a 2 in
one it seems).

I first thaught "man ,i  got one hell of a virus or spyware" No, Seems not , the PC
is clean.

Can anyone maybe help me with this. Keep in mind im completley if not utterly useless
at working with computers.

Apparently the problem lies between my pc and the router. The card could be broken
or or sumone is using my network. I am unsecure (there is no password). Tyler
says i need to do sum "encyption". I dont fully understand how to do this.
If i can manage to do this it will atleast eliminate another of the possible reasons
why its so bad now.

That depends on your router type, but Tyler is right, you HAVE to secure a wireless connection, otherwise someone else will use it to download porn and such stuff.

Basically you need to log in to router itself, each router has it's IP, which you just type in your browser. This will allow you to enter settings area for your router, then you select password or security, something in that area, and chose the type, I think commonly used is WEP 10 digit password.

You need the router's password.

If you are lucky, it'll be default, or without a password.

Look up your router on the interwebs, find the default password... give it a shot.

Question. I connect to to old ladys connection(thats what i use),her connection is a secured connection. Since i use her connection and it is secure then this means its
not about me being secure or not right?

If they dont have the password they wont be able to... unless they are some pro hackers. But Kage, now you are getting to slightly alarming questions, apply brain.
