The point of religion was understanding before there is science to explain, surely?

There are quite a few famous (modern day) scientists that believe in God simply because they can't reconcile evolution or 'before the big bang'.

I still think there's something more than the three dimensions we can currently measure (i.e. what's before the big bang? the dimension that sprouted our universe? something like that.)
Now I run a tech website.

Daekesh

The whole 'if god created the universe, who created god?' question is a bit flawed as it can be applied to any theory really.

Hello!!!

Liked the app, however, would you mind being frost full time?
We are currently lacking the haste buff, its really hard trying to find a good shaman and it looks like you have some experience playing that spec.

Gaeios(Graxlos)

modern string theory suggests 11 dimensions already :P

Bears like alts!

I have no experience with frost in a raiding enviroment, I have used it in pvp so on sustained fights I don't perform very well.

I have read up on frost, and I am going to try it out now! Will update this in 15 mins time. :D

Edit: I tried it out on a target dummy, it seems to be somewhat on par with unholy. I enjoy it right now, will try to find a pug raid to check it out in. :D

Decay

Whoa, that turned into a debate pretty fast :p

But to quote myself, I said 'God of the Bible', and by that I meant they literally believe the Earth is less than 10.000 years old and that humans lived with dinosaurs and so on.

I'm not going to get into the difference between being a deist and a theist here, but I think you get what I was saying.

Also true that you don't have to be stupid to believe in a God/Creator/Unknown. But believing that the Earth is around 6.000 years old is pretty much a guarantee that your IQ is less than 90.
"Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself."

QuoteApathetic agnosticism  (also called Pragmatic agnosticism):

the view that there is no proof of either the existence or nonexistence of any deity, but since any deity that may exist appears unconcerned for the universe or the welfare of its inhabitants, the question is largely academic

QuoteIndifference

Also known as the "I'll eat another cookie" philosophy, an indifferent apatheist would say, "Since the existence of god can never be proven, nor can it be disproven, I won't waste my time asking questions to which there are no answers, and just eat another cookie."

Herp derp, religion is good, if you believe, go ahead and believe. If you don't, don't. I don't judge you for either opinion and I don't care what your opinion is. I do not have an opinion. I am not an atheist, nor am I religious... I simply do not know what the truth is, and I have no craving of finding out.

Meh

Religious debates on the internet forums is like arguing human rights with Josef Mengele (yes, I did it).... or pissing in an ocean of piss.
Trolls are awesome!

Okay, can you migrate so you can raid with us tomorrow? For 19:30.

Religion can be all sorts of things

There are a lot of missionaries outside our university from time to time, some of them quite extreme! It's a bit scary

So because they can't find an answer at the moment, they go Mickey Mouse?

The simple fact that there are so many different religions fitting so many different levels of civilisation makes it so weird in my opinion to follow an organised religion as an non retarded person.
Even if someone's parents were religious themselfs.

Brains > Organised Religion > Deathknights.
Flawless conclusion.

I have some deep theological questions, that if answered, would greatly increase my understanding of the universe.

1. Why are you discussing religion in an application thread?

2. Why does Cwave seem to "wake up" and throw his opinion in, every time there is a thread where there is a possibility of an (granted an intelligent one) argument; and yet seems to be as elusive as mist, any other time?

delling

I think this is one of Cwave's rare and elusive 'sober weeks'.
Now I run a tech website.

kagemoth

no no , he is there , at his PC.. bottle in hand and eyes scanning all threads for
possible convesation or failing that pickup lines!
Insanity doesn't run in my family. Rather, it strolls through, taking its time, getting to know everyone personally.

Brugdas

I'm having some issues transferring, will try to resolve it. :-[
