[Hardcore Raid] Druid (DPS/Heal) - Spacechicken [Accepted]
« on: September 21, 2011, 05:47:52 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

Character: Spacechicken
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Dunemaul/Spacechicken/advanced
Class/Spec: Druid (DPS/Heal)
Raid: Hardcore Raid

Personal Info:

Boran / 24/ Turkey/ Self-employed

Spec:

I'm playing Balance(33/2/6) at the moment. My main was a mage(Arcane/Fire), and I was playing with my druid along-side. After the first few weeks of Firelands I decided to play with my druid as my main character. I think that balance druid simply has more use in this content then a mage. And also Arcane Mage gets quite boring after a while. (No offense to all mages out there) My off-spec is Resto and I'm using mostly the current Balance gear I have with different trinkets(Tsunami, and Alchemy trinket), different head(due to different meta gem) and I also have a different reforge set for healing(keeps me at the haste breakpoint(~2005), reforging useless haste to mastery). I'm not really good at healing. (I healed raids and dungeons, but I don't feel quite confident to heal Firelands yet) I have 371 equipped ilvl on my Druid.

Class:

I'm using Wrathcals(and also Treecals for Resto) to finalize my reforges. Firstly I aim to reach 17% spell hit cap as all casters do.  As soon as I reach the hit cap, I reforge all excessive Spirit/hit into haste(if the gear doesn't already have haste on it), or mastery(if the geear already has haste). I keep track of several websites about Moonkins. (Moonkin Repository, EJ, MMO Champ and so on.) With the recent changes in 4.2 the Critical Strike Rating became the least valuable stat for Balance druids.

As my rotation;
There is not much I can standardise as 'Boomkin Rotation'. In general; IS + MF(SF) on target all the time, Wrath until Lunar, Starfire until Solar and Starsurge and Starfall on CD(Lunar Eclipse preferred). I'm also trying to maximise uptime for Nature's Grace. But in raids this becomes more complicated;

While in trash I try to finish in a Lunar eclipse state so I can start the fight fully buffed. I pop all my CDs at the beginning. (Pre-pot, berserking, IS, MF, Starfall, Starsurge) This is done quite easily in Firelands with the critters lying around. You can just kill them to reach desired eclipse pre-fight. I keep IS and Moonfire on the target at all times, and I always refresh my dots when I'm in eclipse. Then the usual stuff, wrath until Lunar, then Starfire until Solar eclipse. Depending on the fight I stay in one eclipse for a whole phase of the fight. Specially the fights with high AOE demands(Bethilac, Lord Ryolith for example), I stay in Solar eclipse(I re-spec and drop Lunar shower, spec into BotG and Dreamstate(compensate the mana loss)) then go for Solar Cleave(Sunfire on all targets, WM on cooldown). I hope you got what I mean :)

Alts:

I have several alts. Some of them are geared enough for FL. Yeah I know my DK has Mining/Herb but that's what alts for :)

The ones that I play and take care:
Julilisa(85 Mage): http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/dunemaul/Julilisa/advanced
Deathadder(85 DK): http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/dunemaul/Deathadder/advanced

The ones just sit on the side:

Seldo(85 Paladin, don't really enjoy playing it, mainly for professions)
http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/dunemaul/Seldo/advanced

Kukaku(85 Mage, used for PVP, now doesn't have any use): http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/dunemaul/Kukaku/advanced

Professions:

I have Leatherworking and Alchemy. Don't have really special reasons to pick them, because they both give 80 int benefit as most of the other professions do. I picked Alchemy early on, mainly for the fact that I wasn't sure which spec I'm gonna play with my druid and it provides all sorts of trinkets.(Agi, str, stam, int) At the moment I'm using Alchemy trinket for Resto spec, and as soon as I get a decent healing trinket I'm gonna drop Alchemy, and level tailoring instead because it provides the best Intellect bonus(~105 int) amongst all.

Raid Experience:

I have multiple characters and  I've been to Firelands with all of them. With my mage I cleared FL in normal mode. I've also done all in Firelands with my Druid except Alysrazor(which I got asked from my friends to come with my mage and do the air phase) I mainly did 10 men raiding in Firelands but I have done 25 men raiding too. I find 10 men a bit harder, due to fact that 25 men doesn't rely on every individual  to their job perfectly and you can still get a kill if 2-3 people fail. (Talking about normal modes) I also have a Heroic shannox kill on my Death knight, which I found it way easier than the normal mode. I could have done all of them with my druid too, unfortunately I never got the chance.

I started this account when Cataclysm came and I started playing in EU-Dunemaul after I moved back to Turkey. (From Australia) Before that I was living in Australia and playing a mage in Korean servers with my Korean friends there. We cleared 12/12(HC) in ICC, 12/12 normal modes in T11 and 3/13HC. (All 25 men) That account of mine got banned (for account sharing). We were letting each other play with each others' toons, and I wasn't aware that this was a ban reason according to Blizzard's ToS. I didn't try to get that account back, as I moved back to Turkey after couple weeks.

Previous Guilds:

In Dunemaul I played in Turkish guilds. One of them was Ekstaz. I got kicked out of the guild for a funny reason actually. They had this rule stating "No one will get saved to FL in 10-Man". Which was fair enough. We experienced several people declining invites at raid time stating 'they are saved'. But me and couple of my friends from the guild set up a PuG on a Tuesday night(hours before the reset) for Ragnaros. At the time it wasn't downed by the guild, and weekly raids were over. We were simply experimenting with the fight, and we got kicked out of the guild by a officer, with the reason of 'Not obeying the rules'.  I started a guild on my own with a 10 man team(STARS), cleared 7/7 Firelands. The problem was we were a casual guild and I demanded more then that, simply clearing 7/7 in one night and questing for the rest of the week wasn't enough for me. It didn't happen and we disbanded.

Availability:

I'm available at all your raid times. I'm working in entertainment industry and I don't have a constant work schedule. I get called for a concert, then I go and do the concert and I won't be online that day. The rest of the time I'll be online playing. I can notify these dates(concerts) forehand, I'll stick to the the raiding roster.

Communication:

I have Team speak 3 and Ventrilo, I can speak and understand English fluently. I have a microphone.

Computer / Connection:

It's so rare that I experienced some lag issues(spikes, frozen connection). That's mostly due to Internet connection in Turkey, not Dunemaul or my personal connection. I have a Macbook Pro(Late 2009) with an External 24"(1920x1080) screen. I don't have FPS issues in 25 men raids. I usually lower the graphics a little bit to ease it up, but I keep some options up all times. (Projected textures for example)

Addons/UI:

I use DBM(always updated to latest) and a modified version of LUI. I use Grid for Raidframes, and Skada for metering. I use Balance Power tracker and Power Auras for buffs, procs and eclipse tracking. I also set up special power auras for specific fights. (Majordomo - Searing seeds, Alysrazor air buffs etc.) I have Dominos set up and every button has a keybinding. (I'm using Logitech G15 and a Logitech mouse with 5 buttons) I also have ForteXcorsist for Cooldown tracking and Tidy Threat plates for Unit frames.

For healing I use Healbot other than those.

Other Games:

In the meanwhile I don't play other games.

Why Iron Edge?

I tried several guilds and most of them had the problem with organisation and time management. I heard quite good about Iron Edge having a solid background, and management. And as some other Turkish players mentioned too, I'm tired of drama in this realm too :)

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I can offer my best DPS and survivability in raids.

Where did I hear about Iron Edge??

Friends.

Last Words?

I hope it wasn't long for a applicaiton :)

Nice!  I really hope you aren't planning to disappear after 2 raids like our last 4 druids...

Are you around tonight?

I enjoyed every bit of it. I had quite low dps due to fact that it was my first time doing those fights in heroic with 25 men group. It just felt quite crowded and messy, but I will get used to that. I was focusing more on not failing on tactics. My dps will be way higher in next raid.

Tbh other than maybe doing low dps (can't confirm, haven't checked logs yet, still shooting up caffeine), you did quite okay yesterday. No major fuck ups (did he die to tornadoes?).

Quite shocking, really, that you actually managed to fail more than douche, Sky, who'd never done the fight before.  Go you!

P.S Everyone on that list is fucking terrible.
