Personal Info:

This is a joint application with Chayce, Ele shaman.

My name is Pete 28, I am from the UK. I work as a senior science technician at a grammar school.


Spec:

I am playing unholy at the moment because it gives me the highest dps and it also gives the option of using two different rotations depending on the boss fight (Festerblight and normal unholy). Next patch I will be possibly looking at dual wield frost as that seems to be giving the highest numbers at the moment on the ptr.

My secondary spec is blood at the moment, this is mostly just for doing HC scenarios and daily random heroic dungeon. I do have experience tanking in ToT, but I do not really enjoying raiding as blood.


Class:

My current reforge is Haste > Crit > Mastery.  These reforge values I obtained from running a 10000  iterations run on simcraft.  

My priorities are:
For normal Unholy: Diseases > Soul Reaper > Dark Transformation > Deathcoil > Scourge Strike > Festering strike.

The last three swap places depending on rune cooldown/If dark transformation is up/capping runic power. Death runes get used on scourge strikes

For festerblight: Diseases > Soul Reaper > Dark Transformation > Deathcoil > Festering strike > Scourge Strike.

Again with same with the last three, other than all death runes get used on festering strikes until diseases will last the length of the boss fight. Then it reverts back to using death runes on scourge strikes.

I reapply diseases within the 1st 10-20 seconds while both trinkets and unholy strength is up.


Alts:

I have a ret, hunter, warrior and rogue at 90. All have max or near maxed professions and both ret and hunter have an ilvl of 500.

Professions:

I have enchanting/engineering. Engineering for pvp and general fun stuff. Enchanting because it has always been a solid profession.

Raid Experience:

In vanilla/tbc/wrath I had full experience of every raid while it was still current content including naxx 40, sunwell and icc10 hc.

I did not raid during cata. I only recently started raiding in mop and have 12/12 in tot and hc experience on Jin'rokh.

PvP wise I got 2.1k in season 3 as War/Rshaman, and 2k in season 5 as Rogue/Hpala.


Previous Guilds:

I have been in a social guild for most of mop. They recently started raiding, but they didn't have the right atmosphere for me. Because of this I joined my current guild, Klemo Data, (a swedish guild who Chayce has been raiding with for a few months) under the impression that they had intentions of becoming a multinational guild. They decided they did not want to follow this route.

Availability:

I am currently doing a degree with the open university and working full time, this is why your two nights a week raiding appeals to me. I will have no problem attending raids.

Communication:

I have ts3 and a mic and I will use them.

Computer / Connection:

I have a good PC, no issues with ping/lag ect. My account also has an authenticator attached.

Addons/UI:

Tellmewhen, deadly boss mods, grid are the main ones I use for raiding.

Other Games:

I play League of legends and have played a lot of other modern mmo's, the most notable being that I played EVE for two and a half years.

Why Iron Edge?

As I mentioned earlier, I was attracted to Iron Edge because of the two day a week raiding. I want to raid and experience current content without it taking over my life in a fun and enjoyable atmosphere.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

A good player who prides himself on doing the very best he can, someone who is on time, prepared with knowledge of tactics and consumables. I am always willing and strive to improve my knowledge and ability to play my class.

To me everything looks alright. I don't know death knights though so cannot comment on that part, was going to wait to put in a word until someone maybe said something but recently things has been slow on that part.

Decent application i would say. There is only one thing i want to ask; when i checked your Ui, i see neither recount nor skada. It seems weird to me. To optimize ur dps, do not u need to know what u have been doing and what you have done?

Hi there, I had a look at your character for a bit.

Why do you have Anti Magic Zone specced? Your char would benefit more from either purgatory or lichborne, even in pvp.

Your glyphs also look a bit off for unholy raiding, but I guess they are there at the minute for pvp.

I do miss Death and Decay in your rotation though.

Stats and reforging looks alright, ilevel of gear is also above 520.

I have recount, it is just hidden!

AMZ was for lei shen as it nullifies the damage from static shock in the intermission.

To be honest all DK glyphs are pretty bad. I don't have AMS glyphed so on HC Jin'rokh there is less chance of it being eaten by random spell damage when he is casting ionization and I just forgot to change it back.

That is a single target rotation, dnd is only better than scourge strike if it can hit two targets.

Your link also says Blood Tap is the best choice atm, while there is a major discussion going on about picking either Blood Tap or Runic Corruption, because it's bugged.

As I say, preferred playstyle (and reading up a bit, instead of just copy pasting everything from either noxxic or Icy Veins)

DS glyph is for daily's, it also provides a lot of healing on lei shen as the ball lightning adds proc it. Dark sim just happened to be the glyph I used to replace AMS with, just because I have the glyphs doesn't mean I use them!

I'm use Runic Corruption because of said bug, I prefer to use Runic Empowerment as I dislike the micro managment of blood tap,

Next question! 

I see D&D as a dot, you lay it down and get free 3745 shadow damage every second, for 10 seconds, which cannot be blocked, parried, dispelled etc. With the unholy bonus of Dreadblade through mastery (increase all shadow damage done bij 33% + the extra) that is a too significant dot to me, to just not use it on single targets.

When one has to move out of crap, the D&D will still be underneath the boss when not in melee range. When one has to interrupt or has another task in raid and is unable to get a Scourge Strike on the boss, the D&D will still be there.

But hey, as I said, everybody has his or her preferred playstyle
