Hello, Iron Edge!
Character: Norgaardd
Server: Tarren-Mill
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Tarren-Mill/Norgaardd/advancedClass/Spec: Rogue (DPS)
Member Type: raider
Personal Info:My name is Ellis, I'm 20 years old and currently a second year law student at Newcastle University in the UK.
Class/Spec:For this tier I wouldn't say I have an offspec as I interchange between Assassination and Combat on an encounter by encounter basis. Some fights in SoO are more suited for Assassination (for example where there is a long sub 35% phase for Assassination, or fights where there is a lot of cleave and burst windows for Combat).
Assassination is probably my strongest spec as I have played it longer, however I am still very competent with Combat.
Alts:Level 90:
- Death Knight
- Priest
- Paladin
None of them are anywhere raid level, nor have they been played to a competent standard in Mists of Pandaria.
Professions:- 600 Enchanting
- 600 Alchemy
For ring enchants + +320 extra agility on flask.
Raiding Experience:I have no PVP experience. I have played throughout my WoW history either DPS (Ret paladin, Rogue) and healer (Holy Paladin).
TBC:
- During TBC I mainly only played casual and as a result only cleared Karazhan.
WotLK:
- Full Naxx25, 13/14 (no Algalon) Ulduar 25, 5/5 ToTC 25, 3/5 ToTC HC 25. Took a break during ICC thus only managed 1/12 HC ICC25 and 12/12 ICC25.
Cata:
- Quit the game during this expansion pack.
MoP:
- MSV,HoF,ToEs normal all cleared on 10man.
- MSV HC, HoF HC, ToES HC all cleared 10 man in early 5.3
- 12/12 ToT normal, 11/13 ToT HC. 10 man. 13/13hc early 5.4.
- 14/14 SoO normal, 11/14HC SoO HC.
Previous Guilds:--- Raiding Guild History (WoTLK onwards) ---
- Northern Knights: I left this guild as I wanted to step into 25man HC raiding. Progress was going at a too slow level to where I wanted to be.
- Ambassadors of Truth: I joined AoT as they were a solid 25man raiding guild on Dragonblight EU at the time and had a unique philosophy of 'no spoilers' where we would aim to learn the bosses and mechanics ourselves w/o relying on the aid of tactic videos. I spent most of my WoTLK raiding history here, only leaving due to wanting to take a break from the game.
---- Quit during Cata ----
- Antics: I came back to WoW January 2013 and joined a casual raiding guild for the time being to get my feet under the desk to in essence relearn the game after a long break. Even for a casual guild progress was way too slow to what I expected, as a result a few of us left to form a new semi-hardcore guild on Stormscale.
- Rapture: one of the founding members, however over as we started to get HCs on the WoWProgress board it is quite clear a rift has emerged in the guild about how we should move forward. Generally I feel that people would rather avoid confrontation and not try to improve people who consistently make the same same mistakes. After an officer meeting I felt I could no longer move forward with the philosophy of raiding they wish to take. This is quite a complex issue and if you would like me to elaborate further on TS I can if required.
- Ambuscade: Was only here for 2 months or so. I left after breaking my wrist and other personal issues affecting me at the time to take a break from WoW. (December 2013)
Availability:I am able to make the raid days listed, any absences will be notified to the guild well in advance.
I have exams coming up in mid May but due to your 2d/week raiding schedule, I will be able to schedule enough time to commit to continue raiding.
Communication:English is my native language and I am confident enough to talk, both socially and within a raiding environment.
Computer / Connection:Computer Specs:
- Intel Haswell i5 4670k
- Nvidia GTX 760
- 8GB Ram
- 250gb Samsung 840 evo SSD.
Internet:
- 60mb internet connection.
- around 25-30ms stable ping on Kazzak EU
- Stable.

http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3384381420Addons/UI:I have two tricks macroed, one to my focus target and one to a set assigned target. This is coupled with the Trick or Treat addon which helps me keep better track of TotTs.
I also make use of a prepull macro which talent switches prepull to Marked for Death and then back to Anticipation to give me 5cp on the target allowing for a Slice n Dice before pull.
I use Weakauras to track Boss debuffs, trinket procs, Tricks of the Trade, Find Weakness and Blade Flurry. This is supplemented with extra CD which tracks ICDs on talents like cheat death and theoretical RPPM proc chance.
I also use NeedtoKnow to track my rotation uptime's like Rupture/Slice and Dice, Envenom, Revealing strike. Not only this but for things like Bloodlust and the duration of both my offensive and defensive CDs like Feint, Cloak of Shadows and Vendetta.
My UI is a customised ELVUI and using standard DBM bossmods.

Titanfall

Why Iron Edge?I wish to join Iron Edge because you have the perfect raiding hours. I can no longer commit to raiding 3-4 days a week and over 12 hours a week of raiding. However despite your 2 day schedule, you are still competing with 4d/week guilds which clearly shows you have good disciplined raiders and great raid leadership.
What can I offer Iron Edge?I feel I can offer you a player who strives to min-max his character to the best of my ability through active discussion and contribution to my class. Not only this I strive to have the best performance every raid, regardless of it being farm content. I am a player who benefits from constructive criticism to help me improve my play and I regard myself as a fast learner and able to adapt to new fights quickly.
Aside from performance I am a pretty easy going guy who can laugh at myself, I do not have an overinflated opinion of myself. I am also pretty social, often found talking shit on TS until the early hours of the morning. I feel having people with a bit of personality is fundamental to a raid team's success and environment. Pressing my buttons like a robot and then logging off as soon as a raid is finished without talking is not the player I am.
Where did I hear about Iron Edge??WoW-Progress
Last Words?Due to my break I unfortunately do not have many logs other than a pug I did a few weeks ago.
http://worldoflogs.com/reports/rt-2esvun173wsdhe3e/I appreciate its not the best log in the world but it's all i have.
http://worldoflogs.com/guilds/280057/rankings/players/ these are historical rankings from over at least 8 months now, so its worth taking into consideration that the actual rankings were alot higher back when they were relevant.
My battleid is: norgaard#2339
