Personal Info:

Hi,

My name is Troels (Danish name). I am 29 years old and yea from Denmark as the name would suggest! :-)

My everyday passes with work, where I am working as an IT Specialist within the IT infrastructre in one of the worlds biggest pharmaceutical companies. After work I will always hit the gym. I eat, I sleep and I train for max performance for the next workout - so it's more of a lifestyle than a hobby for me.

This particular mindset I bring with me, whatever I might do. Effective, optimization and efficiency are the key words.

Obviously due to my work, I have a lot of IT - and therefor my love for games.

My former experience in games are:
Former CS pro player - played 1.6 for the Danish national team back in the days and competed in high level tournaments.
Quit the game, and came back to Counter-Strike: Source where I got pro again and were ranked among one of the best players in the world at the time with my team being one of the best as well.

I have played Warhammer Online - played with the best guild back on live - we downed the end game content worlds first as Order (Mainly a pvp mmo, but the end game were a PVE instance after locking the other factions with a massive PVP collaboration between 4-500 people in various guilds. (I were the leader of the warbands/raids).

I have played Rift pve for a short while, not long until I got to the top guilds and played with top10 world for downing content.



Class/Spec:

My main spec is frost - I just finished my 54th trait today.

I am currently 42 traits into fire - for farming Mythics with my brother Bodari who is in Vanguard.

I prefer playing frost - I like the speed of the spec and how the procs work - and it's always nice to see really high numbers on the dps meters! :-)

I am 902 equipped in both specs with fire belt and frost bracers paired with a kill jaeden.
Got the utility neck as well, that I am not currently using.

As a fire mage my opener within a raid for ST would be prepot, fireball, instantly rune at the end of the cast just before - pop combust and fireblast / pyro and phoenix until im dry. pop another rune at the end and continue.

I allign my cd's from IE gnawed + combust + saving stacks of phoenix and fireblast for my next combust.

For frost my opener is prepot, ebonbolt, (lust)IV, Flurry, double ice lance and orb. Then continue using whatever procs - and always make sure FF are used before a BF for flurry.

Again I will allign my cd's so orb for a new icy for extending IV duration from icelances. If multiple 3+ targets, cast blizzard and get orb faster due to CD reduction on orb from blizzard.

Alts:

None - will level a DK shortly though.

Professions:

Enchant / alch - low level. - Just using them for pots and enchanting my own gear.

Raiding Experience:

I raided in cataclysm - I raided in pandaria and then I raided now.

10/10 NH HC and 1/10 Myt - got 2nd boss to 5% or so with a pug raid.

I have not raided with a proper guild, except for Vanguards when they occationally ask me to join for something.

 I have always been the DPS in WoW - in my previous raiding - I were the Guildleader and caller of when and where to go for mechanics - and the guy to do mechanics to ensure they were executed properly.

Previous Guilds:

None relevant, came back to the game - currently in Vanguard atm as a social - as previously mentioned my brother is in Vanguard. I am constantly playing with him in M+ to get AP + Gear - and I do join his raids as well.

He would love to come help me, if needed as well (in case he does not raid himself)

Availability:

I work, and then I go to the gym straight after - my times would be from 19 - 24 usually.

On non raid days - I might be doing something else, but I am committed to appointments if they are made.

Communication:

I don't think i've ever heard anyone being able to hear that I am Danish - I have been playing computer games since I were 6 years old-  joined multiplayer games early - and started speaking English back then as well.

I can listen, I can talk - and I can come with feedback - if I have any to give. I am not a person that will be annoyed, nor offended if being told I am doing something wrong - unless I am a 100% sure it's not wrong.

Computer / Connection:

My pc specs are: i7 6850K, 1080 GTX, 16GB DDR4, 512 M2 samsung disk for games, and an intel ssd for windows. (Optimization and efficiency )
my internet connection is 100/30 - and I never experience lag or drop outs.

Other Games:

CS:GO - casually, Diablo 3 at times with seasons and whatever game that might come out that is remotely interesting.

Why Iron Edge?

I want to raid in WoW again, the game really got a massive overhaul instead of idling in the main city day in and day out or leveling an alt - there is actually something or you to do (Main reason why I quit, I simply got bored logging in, when there was not a raid - and my rotation, my ability to move from things just decreased with the dimishing time).

I am genuinly excited about the game, and I love progressing, optimizing and comming up with ideas.
I will prepare before hand, so that I am not being hand held, that is a mentality I do not approve of personally.
I won't expect to be carried, and I won't expect to carry people that do not want to put the time into optimizing themselves as much as they can obviously.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I can offer a positive, down to earth mentality.
I am very social when I am around and I get to know people.

I see myself as being really good at what I do on the mage - however to the lack of alts - I do have some gaps on what other abilities the other classes do actually have. The majority of them I know from playing.

I can assume more of a leader role - in later perspectives if need be - as i've done that in everything else I have done.


Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

I looked up guilds on wowprogress that had downed more than 3 mythic bosses - they seem to be pretty straight forward for any guild to do.

Looked at the mentality of the guild of being semi hardcore, but with limited time like my self.

Last Words?

Hope you give me a chance to raid with your guild - your mentality seems to be like mine.

I know that I lack the experience of a hardcore wow player - however due to my massive PvP oritentated play style previously - I do believe I am more aware, and a lot easier to adapt to situations and see what is going on.

I see in your rotation description you take advantage of the unintended winters chill/ double ice lance combo? Or you talking of something else?

Yea I do use the double icelance proc with being closer to the target. (One of the reasons I use the arc / cos haste set and farmed that)

Unaware if it is actually considered exploiting, when it's essentially a haste breakdown.

Hi Snapsenn! I really like your application, pretty much everything I'd like to know is in there!

I think the only downside I can see so far is that you seem to play WoW very sporadically and its caused huge gaps in your raiding experience. Iron Edge is a 12 year old guild and community. We expect people to be able to commit for a long time if they want to join. Will you be able to make this commitment?

Other than that I like everything I see. Our ranged officer is Mooneclipse and he'll review your application shortly.

The main reason I am applying to a guild, is to commit to playing actively. So I have no idea commiting to a more long term, especially if the community and members are nice people - then it's more friendship and the social aspect that takes over - rather than gathering around the game.

A side note to my lack of commitment to wow - were that I played with the same guys I played with in Warhammer every single time, so when they/we swapped games. I followed as a we were always a group playing together.

This group has pretty much disolved over the years due to real life commitments - so hopefully iron edge is going to be that new group :-)

Yes it is unintended, i have began doing the same thing when I can. From my understanding they are currently reviewing it and sorting it out for when 7.2 launches.

My only pinch of feedback when having a quick scan over your logs would be to use AG more. UM is really really bad at the moment and the only time it really falls on top is Krosus. From what I understand if you can get away with casting AG 3 or more times on 3+ in a fight then its more beneficial. Which covers pretty much every fight. And as you are aware blizzard reduces the cd of FO which means more FoF for the IV and in general.

Ill have a proper look later on.

Quite a decent application I must say, however it does leave something to be wanted in the experience section, seeing as how we are currently doing progression on Botanist, but I guess this will give me an opportunity to see how you do going into bosses with only theoretical knowledge.

I see you have also met our resident mage, Vivi, and hopefully you will force him to once again earn his spot instead of just riding on the fact that he is my only option of mage atm.

It is a short notice, but we are doing a full heroic and mythic farm boss clear tonight at 20:00, would be great if you could come for it.
