Raider Application - Hunter (DPS) - Faceruhunter
« on: July 26, 2018, 09:41:42 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the main raid.

Character: Faceruhunter
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Faceruhunter/advanced
Class/Spec: Hunter (DPS)
Member Type: raider

Personal Info:

Hi!

My name is Alex and I'm a 17 year old from Sweden. I'm currently studying natural science in high school.

Class/Spec:

I'm currently playing Survival as it's the most fun for me out of all the hunter specs. I've never really liked BM and the new MM doesn't feel any good for me, so I've been sticking with Survival. At the start of Legion I was going to main survival, however, as my guild needed more ranged players and survival wasn't really that strong during EN, so I decided to switch to MM and played it until the BfA pre-patch.
I can play MM, but I prefer Survival.

I use the Icy Veins guide for Survival Hunter and the Hunter discord for my information about Survival and any of the Hunter specs. The Hunter theorycrafter Azortharion is the writer of the guide and is a  renowned and skilled player, which is why I use their information on rotations and etc.

Alts:

Not really.

Professions:

I've got mining and blacksmithing as my professions. It's really because I wanted to make the Steelbound Devourer mount, but other than that and making gold, there isn't a really a good reason as to why. I just really like cows that beat any of various opaque, fusible, ductile, and typically lustrous substances that are good conductors of electricity and heat, form cations by loss of electrons, and yield basic oxides and hydroxides.

Raiding Experience:

I only started a bit more seriously in Legion, where I got 7/7 Mythic EN and 8/10 Mythic NH. I was a ranged dps for all of EN and NH. After the guild I was raiding with suddenly broke up, I took a break from WoW for about a year until recently where I've been doing HC Antorus.

NH Logs: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/eu/twisting-nether/faceruhunter#zone=11

EN Logs: https://www.warcraftlogs.com/character/eu/mazrigos/faceruhunter#zone=10&bybracket=1

Previous Guilds:

All the guilds I've left have either been lacking players for raids, quit raiding or just been really toxic towards the raiders.

Availability:

I'm available anytime after 18:00 server time. I'll be away for Christmas, but other than that I don't really have anything that'd stop me from being available.

Communication:

I can speak English fluently and I've got Teamspeak 3 also. I have a microphone and I do use it, but I wouldn't say that I'm the best at small talk, but I will talk when asked a question or when it is necessary in a raid.

Computer / Connection:

I've got a pretty new PC and I have no fps or internet issues.

Addons/UI:

I use: Exorsus Raid Tools, WA 2, ElvUI, Details and Pawn.

UI: https://imgur.com/eX3MwHV

It's a bit basic, but It's what works for me. I've also got some weak auras, but they're only on in combat.

Other Games:

Other than Wow, I play a lot of competitive Overwatch at a Grand-master level, my peak SR is 4.4K.
I'll sometimes play XCOM 2 or PUBG, but not as much as of recently.

Why Iron Edge?

I want to play in a stable guild with a stable roster for BfA, where the players aren't super toxic towards each other and are willing to put the guild before themselves. I think constructive criticism is important for improvement, but unnecessary negativity is not welcome. I want to raid in a chill and relaxed environment where you don't have to worry about being shouted at for making a mistake.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

I'm very dedicated player who'll be punctual and almost never miss a raid. I'm always up to date with my class and I want to be as flexible as possible with switching from Melee to Ranged and vice versa.
I'll always be enchanted and have the optimal consumables for the spec I'm playing. I regularly sim my character for optimal gear for certain encounters

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

I found you on Wowprogress.

Last Words?

Thanks for reading!

Hi Faceruhunter,

Thank you for your application to us.

You have vaguely answered details on the pc and connection, could you please list your pc spec and connection speed, if you are unsure of where to get this their are websites to check your internet speed for free. For example http://www.speedtest.net/ is such a site.

You mentioned that you went on a break near the end of Nighthold, was this due to burnout or did studies interfere with your game time and if so would that happen again?

One or more of our officers may have further questions to ask you so please check back in occasionally.

Good luck on the application.

Whoops! I'm sorry about that!

Here's my internet speed: http://www.speedtest.net/result/7503144540

And here's my PC:

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-7700 CPU @ 3.60GHz

Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070

RAM: 16 GB

OS: Microsoft Windows 10 (build 17134), 64-bit

I'll provide more information if it is required.

The Nighthold break was mainly because I was tired of investing time in a guild just for it to disband/stop raiding. I just didn't think it was fun, however, with BfA my excitement for the game has been revitalized. As I said in my app, I want to be to play in a stable guild, where I don't have to worry about the guild suddenly disappearing the day after. If I'm allowed to join, I don't plan to quit during BfA or anytime soon. Thanks again for reading!

Could you clarify your position on these "toxic environments" you describe?

I don't particularly think Iron Edge is a "toxic environment", but people will speak their minds and sometimes voices will be raised when passions are running high. If you have a history in high ranking competitive Overwatch, I think you know what I'm talking about.
