Superkåre - Warlock app to B team
« on: June 24, 2009, 06:37:38 pm »
PC spec
Asus 22 inch monitor with 1680x1050 resolution
Microsoft Windows XP
Intel® Core™2 CPU 6700 @ 2.66 GHz
Geforce 7900 GS
2,00 GB RAM

The PC is definitely outdated, but it works for me, and doesn’t lag during raids.

Personal Informationz
Yo dawgz, I’m from The Faroe Islands. My name is Kári Frederiksen, and I’m 17 years old. I live in Tórshavn, the Faroese capitol. When I’m not playing WoW, I’m usually hanging out with my friends or out partying. I go to the gym a few times a week with some friends, to stay in shape, but this shouldn’t interfere with raiding, since I don’t go Mondays or Tuesdays. Currently I am jobless and not any education. I’ll be finding a job soon though, since I’m starting to get low on irl goldz. :P

Character Information

Race: Undead
Class: Warlock
You’ll find my gear somewhere around here.
Currently I’m specced two PvP speccs, since I’m doing affliction in 2s and destruction in 3s. My preferred raiding specc is however 3/14/54 Destruction, since it allows the highest DPS output for my gear level. I can however specc for replenishment or even Demonic Pact, depending on what would benefit the raid most.
I recently leveled jewelcrafting up in order to get a couple of socket bonuses without compromising my spell power. I always try to do my best by bringing flasks and food, gemming appropriately.
Here’s a picture of my UI:

Gaming and World Of Warcraft history
Gaming history:
I started gaming when I was 4 years old with the Nintendo entertainment system. I stuck with consoles until I turned 7, then I started playing Diablo, later moving on to Diablo 2. I’ve definitely played a lot of RPGs, but when I first tried Total Annihilation and Starcraft, I fell in love with the RTS genre, since it forced me to use my brain instead of just clicking monsters for hours on end. I only played RTS up until me and some friends started having LAN-parties, where I was introduced to FPS games such as CS 1.6. I never really got into FPS, since my aim was always bad, and everyone got mad at me when I accidentally shot my team mates. :p

Wow history:
When a friend of mine(one who doesn’t play anymore) was talking about how epic the WoW city raids were, I just thought I had to start playing the game. I was a bit disappointed, since when I got to level 60, Blizzard had implemented dishonorable kills, which prevented lots of people from making raids.
It took me about 3-4 months to level up to 60. I didn’t do much in Vanilla WoW, since I didn’t start until a few months before TBC launched.
I first started raiding in TBC on my priest, Roxorzboxorz. I joined a guild called Tremor, where I, with literally shitloads of Serbians. We cleared half way through SSC, and soon after disbanded. That guild was a blast. I can still hear Shalalala yelling and beating the shit out of his desk over ventrilo. :P I decided to try out Rigor Mortis(who had just gotten started). We cleared up to Kael and Vashj quite easily, after which we wiped on them for weeks on end, and finally after dozens of wipes, we finally had both of them down. When we were early into MH I decided to leave the guild to join In Virtue(A fully Faroese guild lead by Decayus). Herein I finally found the correct balance of fun and seriousness, which kept me tied to my keyboard without any distractions for hours at a time.
But all good things have to come to an end, and unfortunately the lifespan of In Virtue wasn’t any more than 6 months. After In Virtue, I decided to go casual up until WotLK, so I took my newly dinged rogue, and started PvPing. I never really got anywhere ratings-wise, only up to the early 1900s. When WotLK launched, I decided to start raiding again, so I joined a bunch of scrub guilds that were doomed to fall apart sooner or later. Yes, it makes a lot of sense, I know.  :-[
I was recently in Burning Down The House, a PvP-only guild. It was fun, but I really missed PvE.

Why do you want to join Iron Edge?
For the kicks and giggles. I’ve always wanted to raid with people who know how to have fun while raiding. The B-team seems like an awesome bunch of people, who I’d like to raid with. I’ve heard that Iron Edge have largest and best community on Dunemaul, which sounds very appealing, since I enjoy the social aspect of the game the most.

What can I offer to Iron Edge?
I’m a very dedicated raider, who always reads the tactics beforehand and I always come prepared to raids with all the consumables I can. I always perform the best I can in general. I know when to take my serious hat off too, and just have fun. I’m always up for a laugh. :)
I decided to WWS a Naxx 25 run sometime last week, to include in the application, unfortunately it stopped recording after Razuvious, but here’s something to go by:

We have 3 very stable warlocks in the B raid, I personally wouldn't mind a 4th. I am however a bit dissappointed in your nationality, was sure you were norwegian!

See no reason why we shouldn't get ya if ya are superduper...kåre.

We could use some more ranged dps although be warned our locks are always top (ranged) dps so you'll have to meet a high standard  :P

The Danish can't make the "HUH?!?!" sound like the Norwegian's do.

Competition is in my blood. In the WWS I linked, I wasn't competing against anyone, but if I have someone to compete with, I'll put in all I got, in order to get higher DPS. :P Given the gear, I can perform at the same level as your other locks, I guarantee you this. ;)

Do all the people from the Faroe Islands play warlocks?

I mean, Decayus, Galtez, etc

(Jamba doesn't count, as he is clearly a pirate who has become shipwrecked there)

It's just a statistical phenomena that most of the Faroese players you know are warlocks :p

Good luck with your apply Superkåre  :D
