There's already 3 tiers of endgame raid instance.  What the level of difficulty and complexity of these are, though, I have no idea.

It isn't an item based game, so you will likely run them once for the experience and then stick to pvp.

If I can double my stamina, health, mana and all their respective regens, increasing my hiding so I can't be seen, increasing my defenses and immunities so I can't be damaged, and double my damage, or, in the case that it is for some classes atm, determining whether you can survive that first attack or not, all by having nice items, that makes a huge difference.

Only at present, you can't get that.

The items don't seem to have more of a stat than anything non epic, they just have more of each stat.

For example.

The game was designed specifically to not be item dependant at late game.

I'm pretty shocked you played like two characters, one nearly 50 and another over 60, and didn't know about the stat capping Daekesh :x

Stats are capped at each level - often I'll look at my stats screen and see something like - for example - "defense 70 (71)" which is to say it's letting me know that it's capped at 71 until I level up.

+hiding does nothing in pvp at all past the basic few points that allow you to hide in light areas.

In fact, a lot of those things do absolutely nothing :') Including the run speed one, the skulking one, and pereption.

Perception allows u to see hidden players, doesn't it?  Hiding seemed to be a major part of pvp, from what I saw.  Hiding means u can hide more effectively, without being seen by people with perception?

I've got mostly blue items which are good for my class, though most of them are 10 levels below my level now.  Lots of stamina, health, str, etc.  I have over doubled my stamina just though stats on these items.  The only stat I've got near the cap is attack rating.  Compared to the green items which I've seen drop, mine are far superior.

Also, if you take 1 green item with 2-3 stats on it and compare it to a purple item with 10 or so, you may think that just because it doesn't have higher numerical stats, that the purple item isn't that much better.  But, if you add all the items together, purple items will destroy green ones.

Perception increases your chance to see hidden players when you use search, which is on a cooldown and doesnt last that long. It is not passive.

A great quote from some aoc thread about perception was something like "unless when you put the final point into it at level 80 it gives you a guide dog, perception seems a bit useless".

So perception is a bit useless.  Doesn't make the rest of what I said untrue.

Just fyi, you can get 100% immunity to damage with the crafted gear current in game.  And that's with a crafting system that's pretty shit, with few useful items.

Not item-based, you say?

Edit: And this is with crafted blue (rare), not epic, items I believe.

Mmmm, gotta love a game, based around PvP, where you can become immune to damage. Balance much? :P

Sounds like you're working on theory, and given the number of posts about "omg invincible players wtf" that aren't present on aoc forums combined with that fact that they do have an awful lot of whine posts and bug reports about everything wrong under the sun else with the game, I'm guessing you can't actually get passive damage immunity.

Anyway, I thought you stopped playing? Or have you fallen prey to the usual pattern we used to see a lot on dm.org forums where people hung around for ages finding problems with something you're not involved in any more? :D

Well, it's not theory, there are posts on the pvp forum about getting evade chance upto 55% with crafted gear/gems and then u double tap back and u go over 100%.  You can double tap back ad infinitum, making you immune to all melee attacks.  You can get magic immunity upto 55% aswell, over 70% with the talents from some classes.  I exagerated a bit, but still... reminds me of paladin with 99% immunity (from d2, was it?)

The reason you aren't seeing a lot of posts about it is because it's very hard to do in the early economy.  The resources required aren't so available with everyone still leveling professions and leveling up.  The server I'm on you'd be looking at well over 300g for all the resources needed... if you can find them on the ah.

As for not playing? Currently, no, but only because I can't get a time card.  Game just stuck one in the post, though.  I did decide not to buy one, but guild convinced me to stay by giving me lots of calloused leather :)
