Weekend Raider Application - Priest (DPS/Healer) - Leony
« on: March 05, 2015, 03:40:30 pm »
Hello, Iron Edge!

I am applying for the Weekend Raid.

Character: Leony
Armory: http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/character/Kazzak/Leony/advanced
Class/Spec: Priest (DPS/Healer)
Member Type: wraider

Personal Info:

Hey there, my name is Sven, I’m 27 years old and from Germany. I am working as a business processing specialist.

Class/Spec:

I’m playing both Discipline and Shadow, my item level is currently at 650 as I didn’t raid anything except LFR yet. (and yes, I am aware that my gear is not enchanted/gemmed yet, the reason is rather simple, I was still on the alliance side two days ago, and well, there aren’t much players left – I’ll get it done in the next few days, if I can find a decent enchanter.)

I actually enjoy playing as Shadow at the moment, as I haven’t played it at all in my previous “career” so I’d like to try it out in actual raiding (not LFR). But I’m willing to heal of course.

As I didn’t have that much of a choice for my current gear, I would definitely go for the following stat priorisation for both specs:

(Intellect) > Mastery > Critical Strike > Haste > Multistrike and last but not least Versatility.

As for the rotation as Shadow:
1.   MB (now 4 Shadow Orbs)
2.   MS
3.   MS
4.   SW:P
5.   MP
6.   VT
7.   DP
8.   MF (Insanity)
9.   MB
10.   MF (Insanity)
11.   DP
12.   MP
13.   MF (Insanity)
14.   MB
15.   MS
16.   Continue at 1.

MB = Mind Blast, MS = Mind Spike, SW:P = Shadow Word: Pain, VT = Vampiric Touch, DP = Devouring Plague, MF = Mind Flay (For the non priest folk)

And for Discipline, I don’t really have a rotation there, what I usually try to do is to keep up Evangelism and then heal. :x

Alts:

I have a Druid that is at around level 88, feral.

Professions:

At the start of WoD I had Alchemy and Herbalism, but I recently dropped Herbalism for Tailoring as it lost its value for me since you get quite a lot herbs off the garrison garden anyway.

The reason I took Tailoring was that I wanted to upgrade my gear, but it takes quite some time to gather all that cloth..

Raiding Experience:

As I’m a player that played the game right from the start I’ll just list a brief summary of each expansion:
Vanilla: Reached PvP rank 14 (Grand Marshal / High Warlord), server first C’thun kill after the mass migration away from Dunemaul (A few good men and more left the server at the time)
BC: Cleared everything
Wotlk: I’ve stayed on the Dunemaul all this time with the same guild (After Life) as an officer and later as guild leader (end of BC I believe).
 We did raid till we cleared ToC and started ICC, however we struggled quite a bit to find decent recruits and eventually too many core members quit the game or left us, after some time we decided to stop and disbanded.
I then transferred to Kazzak and joined SlashCry, after that we got every server first kill there is to get.

Best ranked kills:
- World #9 Anub'arak HC;
- World #29 Al'akir HC;
- World #29 Nefarian HC;
- World #37 Freya HC;
- World #38 Alone in the Darkness;

Cataclysm: I’ve raided up to Sinestra Heroic, after the kill I kinda retired, I didn’t have the drive nor the time to continue raiding/playing at a top level guild (and knowing me, I wouldn’t be satisfied with anything less) and so I decided to take a break from the game.
MoP: I didn’t play it at all on the live servers, I did play the beta but it didn’t catch me to actually start playing the game again.

WoD: As you can guess I started to play again (around 2,5 month ago) and I kinda enjoy playing it, but as the alliance side on Kazzak is rather dead and most of my friends are playing Horde now, I decided change the faction (for the first time :x) in order to be able to play with them here and then.

Previous Guilds:

After Life (on Dunemaul) – explained above

SlashCry  (I stopped raiding after Sinestra Heroic as explained above)

Availability:

I’m usually home at around 18 game time.
I’ll be away for a week starting the 20th of march.

Communication:

I speak it more or less fluently (Altough, I’m not a native speaker), I do have and use TS3.

Computer / Connection:

My computer is a few years old now, but the game runs smoothly on it, my average ping on Kazzak is around 33ms and I don’t disconnect every hour.

Addons/UI:

I currently use ElvUI with DBM, GTFO, Weak Auras, Recount and Omen.

If you really want a screenshot with key bindings and such, I’ll provide it.

Other Games:

A game of hots or HoN here and there.
Diablo 3 seasonals
I enjoy playing other RPGs such as Dragon Age and Mass Effect and some other small games on steam etc.

Why Iron Edge?

As I don’t have that much time anymore to play the game, I’m looking for a more casual oriented raid, with 1 – 2 days per week and you offer that.

What can I offer Iron Edge?

A dedicated, mature, experienced and reliable player that knows how to play his class, that comes prepared to raids. What else are you looking for?

Where did I hear about Iron Edge?

I know you quite well from the time on Dunemaul and I heard from a friend that you have a casual raid / weekend raid which suits me quite well.

Last Words?

No, not really.

^ he is a really good priest. (as his rankings on those bosses testifies) he would be a good addition to ur raid. Raided with him in wotlk with After Life. and played a few games with him and his brother and Footmunch since then. Even though his gear is a slightly lacking, it would be worth investing in him for his talent alone. gear is easy to get. reliable and amazing players are not.

If only for the amount of effort in the apply I'd say a shoe in.

For all future applicants this is a worthwhile application good luck and hopefully is a mere formality to you joining us crazy folk!

I did notice you said 1-2 raids a week, the weekend team are a once a week deal (Sunday's) and our main teams Thursday and mondays, as is in weekend apply I assume it's there you want to go.

Good luck

Vejeta

I was lucky enough to raid with some of the old guild raiders. I will invest time in you, but at this point, we're trying to kill Blackhand, on normal.

We could have killed him by now, but our raid hasn't been so... stable. I will do my best to remove the people that keep us unstable.

So, if it's ok with you, you can raid next week, after we kill Blackhand, on the few hc bosses and normal bosses that will follow. I've also had a talk with a few people that know what's good/bad in your app as a SP, so it's kewl.

That being said, you can poke an officer for a guild invite.
Ba dun tss!

your rotation is messed up u should spam MS and MB On CD so is Halo, then start dot weaving on 4 orbs ( that is if you are going with COP) and you should start collecting crit gear u need 25%+ to go AS as its the best for BRF . I like the application as a whole though I would definitely vouch for ya cos you seem knowledgeable about your class.

I thought so too at first, but did some research and apparently this is the generally agreed upon dot-weaving rotation atm. Feels awkward as hell to play, especially with the tier set bonus, but it works.

This thing is nice, though it doesn't take the setbonus into account:
