Well, I got an mp4 player aswell! But tbh, minidisc does have a great quality in music, and doesn't skip as much as discman. Mp3's are just worthless in quality ;o

MiniDisc is something like 96kbps -- Sony AAC, if I recall correctly.

MP3 is usually around 128kbps, but you can rip higher. 196kbps VBR is basically 'perfect' -- you can't tell the difference from the original medium.

But yes, it skips less, that's for sure (but MP3 players don't skip at all...)

I used casettes when I grew up, recorded everything - minidisc was the natural step forward!

Ow the kbps talk...

It's all relative, just get a mp3 player with enough space (40gig plus for example), use a proper headphone and use cd ex and rip them in 320 kbps. In that way you can avoid discussions about sound quality imo.  :-X

btw classic timezzz!!! :P

I had a 40gb mp3 player like a decade ago.  No idea why they made them smaller!

I stumbled across Delorean on eMusic.  Spanish (well Basque) band, lovely upbeat vocals:
