New heatsink
« on: June 01, 2010, 01:19:54 pm »
Hai guys i was wondering if you can give me some help.

Im looking for a new heatsink, i recently bought the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro (http://www.microdirect.co.uk/Home/Product/45202/Arctic-Cooling-Freezer-7-Pro-Rev-2-Fan-Intel)
However its pretty wide and is nudging one of my ram cards by about 2mm. I figured this would be bad for my ram/mobo so want to replace it quickly.

The mobo im using is:

as you can see the socket for the heatsink is pretty close to the ram slots i have corsair dominator ram which are quite tall.

So I need a relatively thin heatsink for an AM3 socket, my cpu is a amd phenom ii quad 3.2ghz not OCed but it still kicks out quite a bit of heat.

Just wondering if you guys have any recomendations

I don't know much about this mobo but if it helps check my preivous post(http://xoops.iron-edge.co.uk/forum-new/index.php?topic=5006.0) that I made about my gfx, there is my mobo and the heatsink Cooler Master V8..it's damn pretty good one ( I don't know your budget to but might be expensive for you)
