Planet Terror

So, I'm not the splatter movie-fan, but still some mates talked me into watching this with them.
I sat down in the couch thinking that this was a serious horror-splatter kind of thing, as no one told me otherwise. It was horribly overdone, and the blood effects were aaaabsolutely awful. The bubbling zombie faces were quite nasty. but other than that the film didn't scare me at all.

So, afterwards I was told that it was a horror movie parody by Robert Rodriguez.. So that must be why everyone kept laughing from time to time.
Has anyone else watched this? Is it any good when you know on beforehand that it's supposed to be overdone and awful looking? I didn't even know that the "old tape" effect was intentional, I just thought the movie was really old :O

Here's the IMDB page, and strangely enough it's not listed as a comedy or parody here.

Saw it a few months ago when it was released. I thought it was mindless fun as it's so over-the-top, helicopter scene 'n' stuff.

Be glad you didn't watch the Grindhouse double pack: Planet Terror & Death Proof. Latter is the most boring crap I saw last year.

Death Proof is better than Planet Terror... just...

But they are both very much cult/pulp films. Made for fans of their previous work, I guess.
Now I run a tech website.

I loved both, really, but agree with Dell that Death Proof was better. Barely.

I'm not a fanboy, I'm a fangirl.

Anyway, it's not my fault when delling is right! I can't exactly disagree with him just to disagree :P
