We also need to pick civs -- tentatively, I will play the Ottomans.
Now I run a tech website.

Erm, are you sure this balanced Tyler?

For example, some of the civ's get boned on starting tech, as he has modded it so that all civs get hunting and archery when they start, and this can be in addition to the two that you start with. However if you already start with any of those, it doesn't change, so civs that don't start with those two, effectively get two free tech advances, while some others don't.

And the land masses seem still somewhat unbalanced. All of South America for one civ?

Put me down as Inca then. I assume that the unused civs will be AI?

Its balanced alright. Play a couple of single player games, at least until you have developed astronomy amd see.

The civs in the new world have awesome land and traits, however their isolation means they will be quite far behind in tech when they meet the old world civs. The other point is: if you think the Inca have a massive advantage, go ahead and pick them. Its all out in the open os you can make that sort of choice.

I will choose civ last, or you can all chose one for me to play. I am that confident that they are balanced.

Yarr un-used civs are AI. New players can come in and take over any time though.
